Episode 35

The early morning dew clung to the grass, glistening in the light of the rising sun. The air was crisp and cool, and the forest was alive with the sounds of birds and small animals. Alicia and Zed had been traveling for days, and they were both exhausted.

He had managed to convince her to return to her pack. She had no idea why she didn't say no, just like she had said to the others who had tried to talk her out of it.

“We should rest here a little. I'll go in search of some fruits,” he said to her.

“Be careful,” she said behind him.

He turned around for a second and smiled at her. It felt like his plans were all coming together.

“Soon, she will be mine. I won't need to worry over that stranger anymore,” he reasoned, referring to Damon.

Alicia, though suspicious of his motive, found herself admiring him. For the first time in what looked like ages, she really turned her eyes in his direction. He didn't look out of depth to her, but then, he was more of a brother to her.
