Chapter Seven

I awake as the sun shines into the room at the break of dawn, sighing I sit up and look around. I slept in the extra room on the Alpha's floor. It's very hard to believe since this floor is for the Alpha's, Beta's, family and Luna, if they have one. I'm guessing the Loren doesn't have one, I've yet heard about one or seen one however I could be wrong.

Jason will be here today, I can't wait to see him, it's only been a few days, but it feels so much longer. Slowly I get out of the bed, going over to my bag pulling out a pair of jean shorts and blue t-shirt and a new pair of panties and a sports bra to wear. I'm pretty small framed however I've always had a bigger chest, so sports bras are my go-to. I then head over towards the bathroom; I can still smell blood on my body from the injuries that I had.

Aria still has yet to wake up, which makes me sad. I miss her dearly and I feel so alone without her. I look into the mirror in the bathroom. My skin paler than normal, my dark raven black hair falling down in waves, my eyes a piercing blue, my cheeks sunken in a bit from weight loss. My arm and chest still have bandages on it. I pull my dress over my head, revealing the bandages wrapped from my chest up to my shoulder then down my arm. Gently I begin to unravel the bandage, one long scar appears, from the middle of my chest up to my shoulder and down my arm. My biggest scar yet. My body is already full of them, just another one to add to the collection, I guess.

"Well, isn't that great." I sigh looking away from the mirror and go into the walk-in shower. turning the water all the way to hot.

Stepping into the water, letting it rain onto me, I moan slightly as the water feels amazing on my skin. It's been so long since I have had an actual shower, the water at my feet mixed with dirt and blood. Looking around the shower I spotted some shampoo and conditioner, they look brand new. Kai and Ryan must have put it in here for me. Quickly I lather my hair with the shampoo, which smells heavenly, washing it out then lathering my hair with the conditioner.

Suddenly there was a loud knock on the door causing me to jump.

"Mae? Um it's Kai, Loren sent me to get you for breakfast." Kai says the tone of his voice I could tell he was embarrassed.

"O-oh okay, be down in a few." I say back to him just as embarrassed. Kai doesn't say another word and I hear his footsteps slowly disappear.

Sighing I turn the water off, grabbing the towel off the rack wrapping it around my body. Stepping out of the shower I quickly dry myself off, slipping myself into my clothes for today. shorts and red V-neck shirt. Quickly leaving the bathroom, heading over to my bag, not wanting to make them wait longer on me. Setting my towel and clothes down on the chair, I quickly rummage through my bag, in search of my brush. After a few seconds, I finally found it, wasting no time running it through my damp hair. Setting the brush down, I quickly make my way to the door, opening it quickly, making my way out of the room. Only to run into what was almost like a brick wall, losing my footing I began to fall. Closing my eyes accepting my fate, awaiting my impact to the ground, however it never came as two arms were wrapped around me.

"Whoa there, you, okay?" a familiar voice asked, very concerned.

Looking up I see Loren standing there, his silver eyes locking on with mine. He looks tired. "S-Sorry, I was trying to hurry to get downstairs." the slightest blush going across my face as the numbing feeling is back. Amusement in Loren's eyes and the smallest smirk, when he saw my flushed face.

Lorens arms linger around me for a few more moments until he lets go, the numbing feeling fading away. "No need to apologize darling, I was just coming up here to check on you. Kai was redder than a damn fire truck, when he came back downstairs."

I couldn't help but giggle, Loren looking at me confused. "I was in the shower when he came into my room." I say looking up at him, Loren's eyes changed from his silver to complete black

A growl erupts from Loren causing me to flinch and back away. The growl of an Alpha is powerful enough to make you submit, even if you're not from their pack. I drop my head exposing my neck, a sign of submission to the Alpha. My body trembling from fear, what have I done to make him angry?

"Did he see you?" Loren growls, taking a step towards me. I look up at him, his eyes still black, his wolf has taken over.

"N-no he didn't, the door was shut to the bathroom he had knocked on the door and spoke outside of the door, he didn't come in the bathroom." I exclaim, my voice shaky, my body still trembling.

Loren had stopped growling, his eyes now back to normal, he sighs then mumbles. "Damn mutt, learn your place."

Loren looks at me, my body still trembling, I'm avoiding eye contact with him. Loren then takes a deep breath as he steps towards me, his hand grabbing my chin, making me look up at him, my heart racing. "I'm very sorry darling, Aster is possessive and thought Kai had seen you, um well undressed." He says sheepishly. "He had taken over and made it very hard for me to take back control."

I couldn't help but look him in the eyes which were looking at me gently, I could tell he felt awful that his wolf had taken over him and acted the way it did. I'm curious as to why Aster is possessive over me. He should only be possessive over his pack and Luna, not some stranger like me.

"I-It's alright." I say softly "Why is he possessive over me? I'm a stranger, a nobody to the both of you."

"I don't know why we are possessive over you." Loren says, I could hear the irritation in his voice, and I knew he was lying. However, I am not going to push it. Wait did he say we?

"LOREN, what the hell is taking so long, your food is getting cold, you two can talk later now come on!" Ryan yells from the bottom of the stairs.

"We're coming, calm down." Loren calls out to Ryan, his hand leaving my face the numbing feeling leaving. This numbing feeling is becoming hypnotic, I want more of it.

"We better get going before they start thinking something is going on between us." I say looking at him, as much as I wished it was true.

"Let them think what they want." Loren mummers and starts to walk down the stairs. I follow behind him, both of us silent as we go down the stairs. As we got to the bottom of the stairs, Loren had stopped causing me to bump into him.

"Sorry..." I whisper. Loren moves out of the way, and as he does, there is a very familiar voice.

"Hey bug."

Looking up quickly, there stood Jason. Tears immediately stream down my face.

"Jason!" I cry out, running into his arms, as he hugs me tightly.

"Shh bug, I'm here." he says, holding me tightly. I hear a low growl come from Loren then a slap, which caused him to stop.

I burrow my face into his chest, the feeling of familiarity calming me down.

"I thought you weren't supposed to be here till tonight." I say wiping my tears away as I step back, as he lets go of me.

"That was the plan, but I called Loren this morning telling him I'd be here earlier, because Silas told me I could go ahead and leave." Jason says, looking over at Loren who was glaring at him.

I turn towards Loren, "Is that why you came and got me?"

Loren stopped glaring at Jason and looked at me and smiled. "Yeah, I wanted him to get here before you came downstairs."

Not even realizing what happened in the matter of seconds, all I knew is that I had run over to Loren and hugged him, feeling him go stiff as a rock.

"Thank you so much!" I smiled at him. He's looking at me surprised, finally realizing what I was doing, I felt my face turn bright red. Quickly letting go of him, averting my eyes away from him. "S-sorry"

I could feel everyone's eyes on me, I can't believe I let my excitement get ahold of me like that, Aria why can't you be here to stop me from doing stupid things.

Kai started laughing "Wow Loren when's the last time you got hugged like that by a she-wolf." Jason and Ryan start laughing also.

My face was burning now. Great them three laughing and what I had done, I wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't angry at me now. Loren looks at me and I know he sees how red my face is. However, to my surprise Loren steps in front of me, shielding me from Ryan, Kai and Jason.

"Alright asshats, we get it." Loren sighs in defeat "Kai you were a virgin till you were 24 and haven't been touched since, so I don't want to hear it from you" Loren had chipped in, Kai at that point had stopped laughing and Jason and Ryan were now howling in laughter.

"Jason, are you hungry?" Loren asks, realizing Loren is making a diversion from me so I can pull myself together for a moment.

"Yes, I am, I didn't get to eat before I left this morning, because I just wanted to get the hell away from there, poor Alex wanted to come with me, but Silas wouldn't let him." Jason says to Loren.

Finally, I pulled myself together, stepping from behind Loren. "Food sounds really good right now." I say softly.

"You good now bug?" Jason says smiling at me and I just nod in response and smile back.

Asshat, I swear, love him like a brother but if he isn't an instigator. However, it's strange to see all four of them together, you can tell they're all close even though Jason is in a different pack.

"Alright, there's Eggs bacon sausage and pancakes." Loren says and heads towards the kitchen Jason, Kai and Ryan following closely behind him. It's so weird how everything is happening. It's like all of us were meant to be friends or something.

"Mae? Are you coming?" Loren calls out to me.

"Yeah, sorry I got lost in thought for a moment." I say walking towards the kitchen, Loren had already had everything set on the table for everyone. I sat down at the only chair left that was between Jason and Loren.

Everyone else already had their plates full of food, stuffing their faces, smiling. I grab a few pieces of bacon and sausage, a little bit of eggs and one pancake.

"A bird eats more than you do." Kai says, looking at my plate.

"I don't eat very much." I say sheepishly, biting a piece of bacon.

Jason sighs and looks down at his plate. "Bug tell them why your plate is like that."

I snapped my head towards Jason who was now looking at me, I could feel Loren's eyes burning into the back of my head.

"Do it or I will" he says to me, his tone demanding.

"Jason, she doesn't have to if she doesn't want to." Kai says, looking at me with sad eyes.

"Silas only allowed me a plate like this once every two days, sometimes longer depending on how angry he was that day." I say softly looking down. Jason wants Loren to know, so he has a better understanding of how vile Silas is.

"Do what?" Kai growls, causing me to jump.

"Loren, he needs to be dealt with, Alex and I want out so badly, we wanted out ever since Silas made the whole pack turn on Mae. He poisoned Alex and I with wolfsbane when we wouldn't turn on her, said if we didn't, he would kill us both and frame Mae for our deaths. Just like he told the whole pack Mae killed her parents." Jason says pushing his empty plate back. I look at Jason, that's why he did those awful things to me, because he was trying to protect me.

Loren was silent, and you could feel the fear and tension from Kai and Ryan, because of the silence. I was afraid to even look at him even though I knew he was looking at me.

"Loren...." Jason says looking at him

Loren takes a deep breath. "Eat," he says to me. "We will finish this conversation later; Mae I will need to speak with you when you're done. Afterwards Jason, I need you to tell me everything you know; I'm getting you and Alex free of him." Loren said sternly, getting out of his chair, then stormed off to his office.

"Jason, really had to do that this early?" Kai sighs and leans back in his chair.

"There's a reason for it, because if I didn't, this one would eat the same as she normally did if I didn't. And to fix it Loren needed to know, especially since this is her new home." Jason says, looking at me.

New home. Could this really be my new home?

"I get that part, but goddess life is about to be hell." Kai and Ryan both sigh at the same time.

"Can't be worse than what Silas will do to me when he finds out, I was lucky he even agreed to let me here." Jason sighs.

I finish my food, and I look down. "He's going to torture you when you get back." I say softly as all three of them look at me.

"Why do you say that?" Ryan asks.

"I'm here.... I know Silas has called here trying to talk to Loren, I'm not stupid, he probably called every surrounding pack asking if I'm there, that way he can force me back there." I say looking at Jason. "He's going to torture you to get information out of you, it's not the first time he's done it, he did it to my dad at one time when they came back from another pack to help with training one day."

"Yeah, I know. I remember." Jason says, placing his hand on my arm. "I'm sorry I put you on the spot like that bug, but I know how you are, and you would keep things hidden."

"You two really are close." Kai chips in. "Why is that?"

"We trained together when her parents finally allowed her to start her training, she was 10, so I was 12, she's a natural born fighter. She kicked my ass many times in training. She has the swiftness of Kat and the power of AJ. It's a very deadly combination." Jason gloats about me. "I lived with them also so after I left here at what 10, I basically grew up with her at that point. She's like the sister I never had. I had wished you would have gotten to meet her earlier on in life Kai."

Kai laughs. "She's been here one night and it's already like she's my sister especially with the way she joked around last night with everyone, she even made Loren laugh." Kai says.

"Impressive, you'll have to tell me your secrets." Jason laughs.

I smile at Jason. "As much as I'm enjoying you gloat about me, I need to get to Loren I guess." I say standing up from the table.

Everyone nodded at me, and went back to talking, sighing. I headed towards the direction Loren went, there's a hallway by the staircase and down the hall were two doors, a bathroom and Lorens office. Slowly I approach the door.

"Come in Mae" Loren said loudly so I could hear him. Perks of being an Alpha, knowing when somebody is nearby. Taking a deep breath I opened the door, and there he was sitting at his desk, a stern look on his face.

Goddess help me, he's angry
