Chapter Forty-Three

Sara

The thick, smokey fog and the dense cluster of eerie trees made it difficult to navigate through Hoia Bacia forest, however, with Sara and Nina’s magic the thousands of Werewolves and Witches were able to keep on the right path, especially with everyone walking together in close-knit groups, mind-linking every five minutes just to check in. It kept them all together. Sara stepped over a decaying log, morning dew clinging to her leggings and sneakers. At least her thick jacket is keeping her warm enough. But even though the cold seemed to stick to her skin and chill her fingers, she oddly enjoyed the fresh, clean smell of the forest, the sounds of the birds and the feel of the morning dew on her fingertips. It reminded her of her childhood, her brothers and sisters sneaking out into their garden on early mornings to play. Happier days, she thought bitterly sweet to herself.
