She was a very beautiful woman with a dimpled smile that I knew could brighten people’s day. She was looking at Keanu’s father with love in the picture and he was smiling wildly. Looking at this picture it was hard to believe this was the man that made Keanu’s life a living hell. He looked nothing like Keanu had told me.

I looked up at Keanu who had been silently staring at the picture and saw the pain in his eyes.

“He never allowed me to see a picture of her, I’ve never seen my own mother” His voice was so low, I strained to hear him.

I went into his arms and hugged him and he instantly wrapped his hands around me tightly.

I gently patted his back “It’s okay baby. You finally got to see her”

“If it’s too much, we can go and continue next time when you’re ready” I spoke gently to him.
