Chapter 38

Irene returned home a little bit late today. Earlier in the afternoon, Amelia texted her she wouldn’t come home for dinner. After picking up Eric and Ella, Irene took them to eat pizza at the restaurant.

Eric was a really smart kid. Ever since Darren showed up at the little town, he had sensed something unusual was about to happen.

In the middle of their meal, he nudged his little sister and announced, “Ella and I, we are not into this place that much. We can move anytime,” he then looked into the eyes of his little sister. “Right?”

Ella nodded her head at the table. Her little face was smeared with some ketchup, but her smile was warm and bright. “I will go anywhere with Mommy, Eric, and Anne!”

Irene smiled, picking up the napkin to clean Ella’s face gently. She felt sorry for her two lovely kids, but sadly, she was on a way of no return. If she was caught, not only she, both of her kids would certainly fall to endless tort/ure.
