The moment Irene said that, Amelia almost yelled. “What are you talking about?! How could that be possible?!”

Irene took a few deep breaths to calm herself down, then went to the shelf to fetch the wine. She found the bottle of whiskey she liked, then poured some into the glass. After taking a few sips of it, she got some energy back. She then turned and looked at Amelia.

“Your father, James, was the college roommate of Jackson. They used to be very close, but gradually drifted apart after they each got their own families. 12 years ago, after hearing what happened to the Green Lake, your father drove to the Misty Forest to pay condolences to his old friend. On his way back, he ran into a wounded kid in the gas station who tried to steal food from his car. He caught that kid and found he was a wolf. And most importantly, that kid was wearing Jackson’s watch.”

Amelia asked. “That kid, is he Ian?” It’s difficult to find the right word for her current feelings.
