Luis stood up with a smirk on his face and snaked his arms around her waist not caring that she was covered in blood and pulled her into his chest. “I have never wanted you more baby. That was so fucking hot.” “Really? You think so?” “Yes I do. There is nothing sexier than seeing the hottest woman ever showing people who’s the boss.” Veronica smiles and snuggles her head into his chest with a blush on her face. Luis chuckles and kisses the top of her head. “Let’s go rest for a while.” He uses his shirt to wipe off the blood from her face. Veronica nods and he leads her out to where the car is. Luis nods to Gavin. Veronica and Luis ride in the car in silence back to Veronica’s house. They walk back into the house and walk into the bathroom to get cleaned up. “Do you need help getting cleaned up baby?” “I think I will be okay. Thank you though.” “Of course. I will be right outside the door.” Luis gets a towel out for her and then leaves the bathroom shutting the door behind him.

There is a soft knock on the door and Gavin saying, “The funeral is in an hour, Donna.” “Thanks Gavin.” They both reluctantly break apart and get up from the bed. Luis tells Veronica to shower first. They both shower quickly and get dressed in all black. Veronica is wearing a snug black dress with a hem to the top of her knees and a scoop neck and short sleeves. She pairs it with the pearls her mother gave her. Luis is wearing snug black slacks with a black belt and a black long-sleeved button up shirt. He puts on his watch and they make their way to the living room to wait until it is time to. Luis pulls Veronica onto his lap and hugs her tight. Neither of them says anything. Luis lays soft kisses on her temple from time to time but there are no words exchanged between the two. She is led to her car and they are driven to the restaurant they will be having a luncheon with the immediate family. As everyone arrives, they greet Veronica with a “Donna”. Most people do not know who Luis or Javier are so they are giving curious glazes towards them all but they know better than to question Veronica. “Thank you all for coming today. I know it’s hard on everyone that we had to lose my parents but we can grow from here.” “Here. Here. Donna. To the late Don and Donna Sanchez.” Her uncle Craig toasts. Everyone toasts and drinks. Everyone is relaxed and having fun. Veronica smiles and slides her hand into Luis’s and squeezes slightly. “Are you ready to leave?” She asks. He leans in for a kiss before pecking a kiss on her cheek. He nods to her. Veronica says to the group. “I’m not sure how many of you know but I am going to be leaving for a week or so to clear my head. Feel free to continue running things as normal. I don’t see a need to change anything at this point.

He swallowed hard and his face paled. “I apologize for my questioning of Mr. Molina. I am very concerned about the Donna and I should not be questioning your intentions as I do not even know you. Gavin?” “Yes Donna?” “See to it that Joseph here is thoroughly reminded what he does for us. He will also surrender 6 months of his salary to the charity of Luis’s choosing.” Luis snaps his gaze to Veronica’s face and smiles wide at her. “Anything with hungry kids.” “Yes Mr. Molina.” Gavin says. “Joseph, you will remember who employs you. If you forget, then I am more than happy to remind you.” “Yes, Donna.” Two guards come up behind him and drag him out of the restaurant. “Now, I think it’s time for us to leave. It is an all-white room with a large lighted double vanity just to the left inside the door. On the far wall is a jetted, soaker tub that looks large enough for four people. To the right is a large walk-in shower with a large shower bench on the one end with a glass wall separating it from the rest of the bathroom. There is a door between the tub and the shower where Veronica finds the toilet. She quickly finishes her business and brushes her teeth. Then slips on her night clothes. She comes out in short
