Chapter 3

Jelca doesn't know where to go. She was exhausted because of the unending questions in her mind. Why it feels like everyone was denying the fact about those monsters? Why they couldn't do believe her words? She's telling the truth.

She sighed out of frustration. She was now walking in the middle of the forest. She doesn't even remember how she got in this dark place. She sobbed. She falls down and pulled her hair. She wants answers! She wants the truth! She might find out what was going on around her. She was sure about the discomfort of her parents after hearing her telling them about the monster she saw.

There's more confusing. Her mind was taken away. She said to go to Merfie but she ended up sitting here in the middle of the forest.

She couldn't control herself and emotion. She stood up and looked up to the sky that had a few stars glittering above her.

As she shouted. She felt how her bones flexed. She was back on the ground and she saw things in a different and confusing way.

She looked at her hands. She shook her head as she saw the creepiest visual of herself. She immediately turned back into a human form after becoming a wolf for a little while.

She examined her body right now. She stepped backwardly a few steps away when she caught her body being naked.

“W-What is this shit?” she asked herself when she saw her clothes scattered on the ground.

She threw her stare in her surroundings making sure that no one saw her when she transformed into a wolf earlier.

“A-Am I a wolf? Am I a m-monster too?”

Her body trembled. She couldn't believe it. She called the werewolf a monster while she was the same as that man.

Her curiousity rambled with her fear. She can't exactly compose herself now. She took her clothes and fashioned them just to cover her nakedness.

She ran in the middle of the forest but still no way to be able to escape from this forest.

She stopped for a bit. She shouldn't be staying here late at dawn. She is supposedly sleeping right now and snoring caused by her tiring day.

She swallowed when she heard how the dry leaves made sounds. She was certain about her thoughts, someone is spying on her right now.

“W-Who the hell are you? Tell m-me! I-I am not frightened!” she said trying so hard to calm her voice.

Jelca received no response. She breathed again. She thinks of herself as a fool talking alone. She laughed.

While laughing she heard a strange sound, somebody was echoing her laugh. She stopped and that somebody continued laughing.

She peacefully hunts the man. She walked where she thinks the man stood. She bit her lower lip when she saw a man's back. She can't even move when she smells a familiar fragrance. She already smelled this before, it's just she wasn't sure about it. She can't assess when and where.

When she got her focus back to the anger at the man who did spy her, she immediately moved and touched the man's cloth.

“Who do you think you are—”

She felt how a mighty punch landed her stomach. She looked at the man who's coming her way. The man was worried of her. She can't describe how painful the punch of that fist was. The strength of the man isn't normal as she was thrown metres away after being punched.

“I’m sorry. Hey! Wake up! Hey!” She heard the regretful voice from the man who did punch her. She didn't expect that. She slowly closed her eyes as she lost her senses.

--

This was his prayers. He prayed to the destiny to bring this woman in her way. Now he was carrying the woman he chose as his mate off to his condominium in the city.

He cannot imagine that he was answered as easily as this. He went where he parked her car and opened the back door of it. He almost kissed the woman as he laid her on the backseat.

He cannot even move as the beautiful face of the woman captured his attention. This woman was beautiful.

“I don't even know your name but you're beautiful and you got my attention. Choosing you as my mate is a great thing I did all my life.”

He closed his eyes and he breathed slowly. The woman's lips were tempting him. He swallowed as he tries to stop his mind in thinking about kissing the woman. That is absurd and the woman will definitely scold him to death when she knew that he did kiss her.

He was about to stand but his thoughts won. It was late when he realised that his lips were rubbed to the woman's smooth lips.

He stood up in shock. He learned to catch his breath again. The fear and the guilt was gone. He smiled instead.

“I sealed you with my kiss, woman. You are mine now and whoever comes my way off to you will suffer from the mighty claws of mine,” he said before entering his car from the door beside the driver's seat.

He drove to his condominium. He observed and when no one was around, he carried the woman to his unit.

He hurriedly opened the door of the room where he sleeps and laid the woman in a soft and comforting bed.

He couldn't take his eyes from the woman on his bed. She was just stunningly gorgeous. He saw women in his pack but no one was as beautiful as this.

Bryco observed something on the woman's cloth. They were torn and just put together to form a new cloth.

Bryco didn't pay attention to what he noticed in the woman's clothing anymore. He better go out and prepare something to eat so that when the woman wakes up she will have something to eat.

He cooked steak and fish fillet. When he finished cooking, he rested. And then maybe he will sleep when the morning comes.

He was worried about the woman so he looked at her. He took a deep breath of relief because he saw that the woman was breathing well.

Bryco couldn't control the lifting of both ends of his lips when he saw the woman's face. This woman can really make him smile. In fact, he was very eager to know the name of the woman he was watching now who was lying down and sleeping soundly above his bed.

He was nervous earlier because he punched the woman hard. He felt sorry. He wants to take her to their palace in the forest but he was s worried that his family might hurt the woman. He couldn't bear to see anyone hurt the woman he chose.

“Maybe it is hard for you to love me but I am sure that at the end of this, you will find your head resting on my arm. I like you, strangers,” he said calmly.

Bryco returned to the living room and decided to read the news about the human world.

Bryco waited for morning. He just yawned as he looked at the clock, its tentacle was pointing to the number seven. He hardly realizes that he has been reading news from different parts of the world for hours.

Bryco's smartphone rang so he reached for it. He smiled when he knew who called. Feli, his sister.

“Feli, my sister, how are you? I thought you would sleep for a few more days. You worry me so much! Don't do it again. Don't force yourself to find out the prophecy, we know that it will reveal itself if it really wants to show things, right?”

His sister breathed. Bryco knows that Feli was still weak but he feels better because somehow his sister has woken up.

“I just don't want you all messing around. I don't want our pack choking you either, brother. Let me be careful next time. If I can avoid it, I will. But, I really can't avoid it, brother, especially when I know that you are the one in trouble," said Feli.

Apart from their mother, Feli is the one who really cares about Bryco. Feli once lied just to protect Bryco. Maybe that's why Bryco feels closer to his sister because he feels in his heart that Feli shows real concern for him.

“I'll be in more trouble if I see something bad happen to you. You've protected me for a long time, Feli. I think you can take a break from protecting me. I have seen her. I have seen the woman I chose to be my mate,” he said.

“W-What? I mean—How? Did this happen last night?” Feli asked in shock.

Bryco leaned back and put his arms around the back of the sofa. He looked up and smiled.

“Under the full moon, our eyes stared at each other. My heart beat fast. She won my heart. At that time, I chose her. I chose her to be my mate, Feli," said Bryco.

“I can't believe it, brother! I'm happy for you. Finally, the throne of our father can be passed to you! You will now be the Alpha Bryco of the Midnight Storm Pack!”

Bryco can't explain what his sister was feeling right now because he can't see her. He only knows one thing, his sister was happy. Very happy.

"Yes, Feli. And I will continue what father started. I will not let our pack down. I will make the foundation of our pack stronger. Black wolves can't subdue us. I promise that," Bryco said.

"Brother, tell me about her later. Our mother called me. I'm sure that she needs help again,” said Feli.

"Sure, Feli."

He hung up.

Heaven will take care of it. Even though Bryco made the difficult decision in choosing a mortal to be his partner in wielding the Midnight Storm Pack, he will stand by it because only the woman made his heart beat. He also doesn't want to force himself to fall for another woman.
