Eighty- nine

Alex

It was the day of my coronation. My brain knew this and it partly kept me up and active, but my body was tired and uncooperative.

The two clashed, leaving me in a lucid state, but all that was stopped, when a sudden phone call woke me up abruptly.

“Wha—?” I groaned, annoyed by the shrill ringing tone coming out from my phone. It was just seven in the morning. Who could be calling in so early?

I picked up, wincing at the bright light from my phone and avoiding looking at the caller ID on my screen.

“Hello?” I croaked.

“Alex, it’s me, I’m back in town now,” I recognized the voice to be Morgan’s. “And I have good news and bad news,”

“Welcome back, but please don’t tell me on the phone. I’m too disoriented for this,” I had to cut in, right before he revealed any information to me. “Both can wait after the coronation, right? Cause I don’t want to spoil my mood before the coronation,”

“Really?” Morgan sounded surprised.

“Really. You can tell me after and I’ll be fine,”
