Chapter 16

Rows of red rashes bloomed across David's arm with no rhyme or rhythm. He almost blacked out at the sight of them. He felt like the sky was collapsing on him. As a doctor, he could easily tell that this was indeed a symptom of syphilis.

There hadn't been anything on his arm when he'd showered that morning!

David started furiously rubbing the rashes as he muttered, "It can't be. It can't be! They have to be fake."

When the rashes stayed in place no matter how hard he rubbed them, he started scratching them manically. It only took a while for his arm to become bloody.

Vivianne was incredibly disgusted when she saw this. She wanted to pull Frederick away with her, but David happened to look up and see them.

The woman he loved was there to see him finding out he had syphilis. There was no way she would fall for him now. He seemed to lose his mind at that thought.

He swung his bloodied hands at her face—there was a 90% chance of one getting infected if the blood of a syphilis patient
