Troy’s POV I farewell all the couples and remaining pack members and head inside to check on Faith and the kids, after Octavia left I found her in monkeys nursery crying with the kids. She told me how devastated she was that Uhtred wasn’t her Mate and how hurt she felt when Zane basically rejected her because of it, saying he couldn’t do that to Uhtred, so she ran back here to hold her daughter. Octavia’s POV “Hey ma, how are you and dad.” I ask through the phone. “We are fine sweetheart, we found a Pack in Adelaide that took us in for the full moon run.” Mum says. “That’s great, have you found Alpha Damon’s Pack yet.” I ask. Troy’s POV I can’t believe it actually worked, I mean I know it can because I’ve seen it in the prophecy but it was my own reflection I saw with red eyes not Zane’s, I wonder how many more people Octavia will turn and if they have to die in order for the transition to work. I have so many questions, this witch had better hurry up I can’t think straight. “So what do you think.” Octavia asks snaping me out of my daydream. “Huh.” I say. She chuckles, “Daydreaming again.” “Yea.” I shrug, “What did you say.” I ask. “What do you think of the Zane and Faith situation.” She asks. I think about it for a moment, “I think if the Goddess believes they deserve a second chance then they will both get new Mates.” I speak honestly. I have heard of people getting a second chance at a fated Mate but I have never met anyone that has, so I wouldn’t know what they have to do to get it. “I hope so, both of them deserve to be happy. Octavia’s POV This has to be one of my favourite training games to play with the Pack, it’s competitive and a great group exercise plus it always helps when there is a prize involved and I have a feeling this prize will mean a lot to one particular young she-wolf so I expect to see her put in the extra effort. I have had this conversation with Uhtred about bringing Breda with us to Mann but I wanted to see if she truly has that Viking instincts in her, to go that extra mile and win the prize for herself. Troy’s POV “How’s hybrid Beta training going.” I ask Octavia. She sighs, “Challenging, it’s been almost a week and Zane just thinks he’s invincible and hasn’t been taking it seriously.” She huffs. I chuckle, “Well he kind of is, even I can’t take him on now.” I say honestly. Now that Zane is a hybrid he is impossibly fast and stronger than any werewolf even an Alpha like me, though he will never be as powerful as Octavia he is a close second. She gives me a look, “He may be a hybrid but he can still be killed if he is careless, and so can I so if he fucks this job up it could cost us all our lives not just his.” She explains. Octavia’s POV Hearing Zane finally confess his love for me yesterday and the reasons behind why he was always such an ass should have shocked me but it didn’t, I guess over the past week of training together he kind of grew on me, yea sure he’s a tool but I feel a sort of connection with him now. Troy’s POV I can’t sleep, I hate fighting with Octavia it feels like my heart is breaking slowly and the longer I’m away from her is torture. I have to go talk to her I can’t take this any longer. I get up out of bed and pad across my old bedroom floor to the hall, I make my way in the dark to our room and I’m about to walk in but I stop and decide to knock first.
