Chapter 59 ~ It’s About Isla

{Cayden’s POV}

A maid had bursted out of a corner and scuttled towards us.

By ”us”, I mean Isla and I. We had just returned from our Rogue Hunt that was, by the way, a lost cause.

Isla had jeopardized the mission with her childishness and inexperience. But that wasn’t the issue now.

My mum was finally awake.

The feeble-leggeg maid had informed me.

I was trailing behind her now, pressure building in my chest and anticipation bobbing in my lungs. I was finally going to see mum after three weeks. I couldn’t wait. It was almost unbelievable.

I needed to confirm.

“You said Naí Sassaba is awake?” I asked the maid as we took a corner on the left.

She paused to look at me. “She isn’t in the Palace clinic anymore. She was moved to one of the Guest chambers yesterday.” The maid informed me and I swiftly joined her on her trail.
