The Canvas

Aira stood by the window and looked at the covered canvas by the side of her studio. It was a slightly bigger canvas that she had gotten used to having there when working. After all, it had been there for five long years.

Whenever Aira felt too tired or confused about her work as an illustrator, she would look at the covered piece to regain her will to continue. Although it helped her reach what she reached now, she would never call it her motivation. The canvas wasn't her motivation nor was it her incentive to do better...

She always thought of her relationship with that canvas as twisted, she loved it, but she could never uncover it to look inside. Still, she used it to push herself further and work harder. after a few years, she could barely remember what was inside it in the first place. The lines were blurry in her mind and she couldn't discern the shapes and colors clearly anymore.
