Celia POV

Emilie looked around and asked, "Cordell, Carolyn, where did Leon go?"

Carolyn said, "It's too noisy here. He just went out to answer the phone."

Emilie's eyes peered out the window, looking for Leon.

I, on the other hand, sat back down indifferently and continued to eat my fried chicken.

After a while, Leon still hadn't returned.

Carolyn decided it was too hot in the store and suggested that we all go out.

Everyone was about to leave when Emilie got up to put on her jacket, reached into her pocket, and said, "Where is my wristwatch?"

Carolyn searched the table and looked under it.

"It's not on the table or on the floor. Emilie, could it be that you didn't bring it out today at all?"

Emilie shook her head firmly. "No! I'm pretty sure I brought it. I just took it off and put it in my jacket pocket. It would be fine if I lost something else, but that watch is very important to me! It was the last birthday present my grandfather gave me before he died!"
