In her room, Lydia sat on a chair by a large mirror, slowly combing through her hair.
~Din.
A loud and rude knock on the door, stopped Lydia’s actions.
“Sis, are you up yet?” Camilla's impatient voice rang. “There’s something I need to talk to you about, so can you open up fast?!”
Lydia chuckled. Speak of the devil.
The knock on the door became even more violent and impatient.
~DIN. DIN. DIN. DIN.
“Sis, it’s serious! I need to talk to you now. Open the door now…. Why are you always so selfish? I really need to talk to you,but you won’t even open the door?” Camilla erupted, her arrogant nature slowly poking its head out. Lydia thought it was amusing.
‘OH, my dear sister, you just knocked once and you expect me to fly to the door? I must have been stupid in my past life to not see the signs’
Lydia slowly got up from her chair and elegantly walked towards the door. As Camilla was about to knock on the door, she suddenly opened it.
“Yes Camilla?” Lydia answered in a cool and flat tone. It was too calm that Camilla’s initial fury vanished at a visible rate.
Eh?
Camilla was uncomfortable.
Wasn’t this her sister who would always coax her when she threw up a fuss? Why isn’t she doing that now? Was this damn mad finally angry at her? Camila took a deep breath recalling why she came.
She must not ruin their plans. Thus, with a forced smile, she stepped into the room cautiosly.
“Sis, you're not angry right?..... Anyway, you have to make breakfast today. We just fired the maid that you hired last week.”
At this point Lydia honestly thought that the she of the past actually needed to die. How did she not see through all these people? It’s not enough that she had to pay all their bills, but she also used to cook for them every week before going to work.
They would fire all maids and butlers she hired on a weekly basis, making it hard for anyone to work here. Because of this, her house was labeled as a demon castle to all employees in the city. Her family only wanted those they hired to work in the villa. Her family was so overbearing. But in her past life, she truly loved them.
Camila looked around the room, inwardly proud that Lydia had the smallest room amongst them all. Yes. This was what a maid like her deserves. But what was up with Lydia’s current attitude?
Camilla kept a sweet smile on her lips, but her hands were currently gripping Lydia’s blanket furiously.
‘Bitch! Since when does this bitch deny me anything? How dare she say No? We did a favor by picking her up from the gutters. And she wouldn’t even cook for us? Is she mad at us? Who the hell does she think she is… AHH I’m getting so mad but I can't show her that I’m angry.I still need to ask for THAT.’ Camilla thought inwardly.
“Sis, did we do something to make you mad at us?”
“Mad? How can I be mad? It’s just that I was just too tired from working late last night, yet no one asked how I was.” Lydia said while massaging her temples as if to show that she had a headache. “Camilla… Am I not your sister as well?”
Camilla panicked and answered hurriedly.
“Of course you are…. Don’t mind me, sis. I'm just a little muddle-headed that's all. Since you're stressed you don’t need to worry about cooking. I'll explain it to mom and dad for you.”
Camilla observed Lydia and saw that although she acted strangely today, she did look somewhat weak and fatigued.
Thus, she believed Lydia’s excuse. After all, how could this dumb girl know of her family’s genius plans? Although Lydia was book smart, she was stupidly dumb when concerning personal relationships.
“Anyway sis, your lawyer came over today and wanted us to remind you about the importance of a will. He said he would make time to see you at your office to further talk about it.”
Lydia chuckled.
So impatient? It’s not even up to a day since she returned from the dead and they're already thinking about her Will.
“Don’t worry sis, I will write it soon” Lydia answered with a smile on her face.
“Great!” Camilla’s face brightened. “That’s good news, sis. It’s about time you get it done. Okay, okay. I have to go now… see you downstairs sis.”
Like so, Camilla rushed out of Lydia’s room. Probably to tell her parents.
Lydia smiled coldly at Camila’s disappearing silhouette.
In her past life, she always rejected the thought of a will because she just felt that it was unnecessary at the time. But when she finally turned 29, she finally succumbed to her parents, boyfriend and her lawyer and wrote the will 3 months before her death. So the only thing that kept her alive all these years was her will…. She worked hard to make her family comfortable, but they worked even harder to kill her… Is this what people meant by the circle of life?
Now that she’s back, she needs to get new bodyguards first.
Lydia took her phone from the bag, listening to the line ring.
~Bluuuuuuuup.
“I need a favor”
[Anything you need] Said a deep devilish manly voice.
“Good.”
As Lydia walked down the stairs, she saw that her entire family was seated at the table having breakfast. Her fake mom probably cooked the meal once she heard that Lydia wasn't going to do it. In fact, she still looked frightfully angry as she gazed at Lydia. “Morning” Lydia said as she took her seat at the table.“What’s the matter with you? Why can’t you smile? Just because of a little tiredness you can’t cook for us? Hmph! You’re becoming more and more lazy around here. Luckily I know how to cook or everyone would have starved to death because of your uselessness. Do you think that you’re the only billionaire in the world? Others work harder than you and can still afford to cook for their families… but here we are stuck with a lazy girl as a daughter.” Mrs.Hart sneered as she looked at Lydia with rage and disgust. When was the last time she cooked? In her mind, this bastard girl had caused her to suffer too many grievances. How could she not let out steam?Camilla quickly held her
“Good Morning, Boss”“Good Morning, Miss Boss”“Good Morning, Boss”In the company, several employee’s humbly saluted Lydia wherever she went. And by the time she stepped into her private elevator, she had already been greeted by over 200 employees. “Mya, reschedule all morning appointments. I need you to call up all company secretaries and department managers to my office immediately.”“Right away, Boss.” Mya took off like the wind, just on cue before Lydia’s phone began vibrating.Seeing the caller I.D, Lydia showed a true smile. “Is it done?”[Hmmm…] The man on the other end hummed in acknowledgement. [When do you want to put your plan into motion?]“2 days from now… And thank you.”[Hmmm.]Lydia dropped the call, seeing Mya approaching from outside. Her office walls allowed her to see the long hallway leading to her office. But those approaching her office wouldn't be able to see what she did here. Mya approached her door with a group of managers and secretaries. Once inside, My
-----The Hart Family House------In the dining room, a beautiful vase crashed on the wall.~Crashhhhhh!!!!!The sound was thundering."That Bitch!!!! How dare she fire our people? Isn't it the family's company?" Mrs. Hart yelled angrily."Mom, how am I supposed to secure my position in the company now? All the people that backed me up were fired...What could have gotten into her recently?... She was always so obedient before,” Camilla asked with a confused tone.Mr. Hart looked at his angry wife and frowned."Calm down, I've already investigated it.... Those buffoons that we hired didn't even try to blend in at the company. They hadn't been doing their jobs for a long, long time.....Also, everyone else in the company had always complained about their behavior. I'm guessing that it was because of these complaints that the dumb girl fired them. To top it all off, they also took paid vacations without anyone's knowledge. Those damn bastards.... They were stealing our money!!!" Mr.Hart
-------Underground Auction Room----------Nate and his team had been standing there and waiting for their buyer. The Black Lotus gang. Within this week, they have been kidnapping lost, homeless, and abandoned children all over the city. So far, they had succeeded in luring 24 children into their base. These children were gagged, tied up and locked up in the basement of their hideout. The ones that were only than 15, were generally raped. These children were to be sold to big drug lords and kingpins within the country. Even rich people from abroad wanted some of these kids. These children would be turned into 'house pets'. Their only purpose was to serve their masters in any way possible... There were even auctions that sold the children to the highest bidders.Tonight, they had also carried out a similar auction as well. The buyers had nodded and were about to collect all 24 kids.Nate saw a 45 year old man slowly walking towards them. He had a pot belly and a lot of jewelry all ove
-------Hart Family House-------- "Dad, I just lied to a police officer for you. So be honest. Where did you hire Nate from? Why didn't you check his background? With all his crimes... If he lied against you guys... then, then… all of you will definitely go to jail.” Lydia asked with worry. But her concern only made them uncomfortable. "From now on, I will hire my own bodyguards, so you don't need to worry about me. I also have to go to the police station to hear what he has to say. If he lies about you guys, then I will try to help you all.. Don't forget... he mentioned your names..." Lydia added in panic. And sure enough, Mrs. Hart almost had a heart attack on the spot. What the hell? There was no way that she would allow Lydia to find out.. no way in hell!! In Fact the whole family thought the same way, not just Mrs. Hart. "You're right. I should have looked into it more. When would you be going to the police station?.You know that we care for you... If you think that it would b
One day later, the same police officers came back to the Hart residence during breakfast."Good morning, Miss. We have terrible news. Last night, your bodyguard and his crew died mysteriously."Died?Lydia was taken aback. How did her family do it? Who was helping them in the shadows?"Weren't they under police custody? How could they be murdered then?" Lydia asked while pretending to look very depressed."Miss, last night, there was a power outage at the station, and by the time the lights came back on, they were all dead. We suspect someone hired skilled assassins to sneak into the station and murder them." The first officer stated while vigilantly observing everyone’s expressions."Yes. We suspect that it was one of their acquaintances on their line of business. The person was probably scared of being ratted out and hence, decided to murder them all." The second officer added. At this point, the other Hart family members were relieved."That's really sad.. I would've loved to talk
In a blink of an eye, the days flew like running water. -----Hart Residence----- The air is so brittle it could snap in half. No one spoke, yet everyone was moving in and out of the main building severally. Holding their breaths, the household staff were quick on their feet, transporting the many luxurious suitcases with utmost care. "You idiot! Are you drunk? Do you know how much my bags cost? Even if I sell you 20 times on the black market, it won't cover the damn cost!" "Take it easy! Take it easy, you MORON. That's my latest baby in your hand. If I get so much as a scratch on it, I'll deduct your salary for the next three months!" The Harts bellowed like fire-breathing dragons at the useless staff around them. They wore luxurious attires and controlled the scene with their noses raised to the sky. And when everything was packed, they stood before the vehicles, facing saying their farewells to Lydia in a rushed manner. "Sister, don't worry. Like I've said, I'll take enough pic
Standing before Julia was her driver and the head guard, who were tapping their feet and crossing their hands on their chests. Lydia paid no heed to their actions as she calmly nodded at Mya. "Here... Take it." Mya handed them a card. "With this, I expect you both to handle things around here, and get daily supplies, be them groceries or lightbulbs if it comes to it." "Ahhhh!" The duo was ecstatic, sending their hands to the card. They've worked here so long that even if they didn't respect Lydia, they knew she was a very generous person. Meaning the money in the card should be three or even ten times more than what they might require. Which gives way to another fundamental question -- Who among them will get to carry it? The driver and the head guard stared at each other viciously, forgetting they were still in the Presence of their boss. Hmph! The driver raised his nostrils to the sky, pulling the card to his end. "Are you picking a fight with me? You and I know that
