Chapter 27

Schuyler's P. O. V.

The next morning, when I woke up, the space on the bed beside me was already empty. It even looked like Ezekiel didn't stay with me last night, but after the argument we had, it was pretty understandable.

I got up on the bed and tied my robe around my body before going out. I wanted to visit my parents today, so I better tell Hunter now to drive for me later. Not that I can't do it alone, but Ezekiel doesn't want to. Last night was an exemption.

Hunter wasn't in the living room like he often does every morning and waiting for me whenever he knew that I'm going somewhere. The maids simply glanced at my direction while I'm walking past them and didn't even dare to greet me.

I slowly got used to that kind of treatment from everyone here so it's not a problem to me anymore. The moment I reached the dining hall, I was stopped in my tracks after seeing Ezekiel there and drinking a coffee with Hunter standing beside him and showing Ezekiel his tablet.
