29: Still no sign.

Alpha Cade led his members through the woods, dividing them into several groups to search for Zyra. He could see everyone putting in their best effort, but his eyes kept scanning for Aria. He had no idea where she was, which group she was with, or if she had even joined them for the mission.

“If you don’t stop making that face, everyone is going to suspect something is wrong with you, brother,” Gaia said from behind him. Cade turned slightly to look at her before rolling his eyes.

“Who would notice? And how could they?” he laughed lowly, trying to brush off her concern. Gaia clicked her tongue in annoyance.

“Okay, Kelvin asked me what’s going on between you and Aria,” she replied. Cade froze and turned to her, his expression serious.

“Kelvin? What did you tell him?” he asked urgently.

“What I know, of course. He’s my mate, I told him everything,” she replied with a smirk, though she was lying. Cade’s eyes widened, and he grabbed her arm.
