Sophia's POV It is still funny how it had felt like yesterday when we started dating and today we are celebrating our sixth month of being together. Dating Alexios has been nothing short of beautiful, even for someone who is as pessimistic as myself, I am unable to find any fault in him. I have watched him try to get to know me, to be better, and to improve. Being with him has been good for me too. It helped me control my temperament and I have grown to be more patient than I was."When is he coming to get you?" Mom asked for the umpteenth time. There are times when I wonder whether I am her kid or if Alexios was her kid."I don't know mom. He hasn't been picking up my calls." We had planned to spend the whole day together. We wanted to probably go for a hike and then make a tent for a picnic. Somewhere quiet, somewhere we will be making our place. I had tried calling him all day but it kept ringing with no one picking up."Maybe he is trying to prepare a good surprise event for you.
Allison's POV "Luna, you should get some rest." Margaret, one of the older pack members advised as she held my hand. "Thank you Margaret, but I promise I am okay." Smiling at her, I left to go check on the recent new mother whose child hadn't stopped crying."Hi," I squatted as I took the little girl from her almost crying mom. "Go get some rest, I have got this." The lady whose name I am unsure of shed a tear as she gave her thanks. One of the benefits of being a Luna, is the ability to connect with all pack kids in a way that cannot be explained. With the little girl in my arms, I moved around to ascertain every one was okay and not panicking. Having their mates, sons, and to some daughters out there fighting to protect our home, and pack, worrying and panicking over their safety is imminent. "Luna, the public landline is ringing." Jesse, the Gamma female informed me."They might just be curious over the blockages mounted. Talk to them please." I responded to her as I went on to
Sophia's POV "Sweetheart, you are up already?" Mom asked her voice laced with concern as she looked at me."Yes mom, I couldn't bring myself to sleep." My heart had refused to be calm, it kept racing and I felt really uncomfortable. If only anyone could tell me he is alright, it would be even better to have him tell me that himself. "You need to rest. Your mental health is important Sophia. Look at you, you don't look alright. You should have forced your eyes to stay closed until you actually sleep off." Mom reprimanded me as she glared at me. "I..." I had no excuse. "I will sleep, I promise. As soon as I am able to, I will definitely sleep." Although I made such a promise, I had my doubts. 'What if I am still unable to sleep?' "I spoke with Allison, they are fine." Mom informed me. I sighed in relief."She picked up." I whispered. I had been worried about the silence from his home, the period I had been together with Alexios, I know how much he values his family, and the way he w
Allison's POV "How are they?" Walking into the room, I asked Tiana."They were tranquilized to sleep. Two of them..." She shook her head dejectedly. Sighing I nodded. All my years as Luna, this is the most difficult part of the job. Having to console a wolf who lost their partner. It is a feeling that I hope to never experience. Some weres are never able to heal from such and they end up being aggressive. "Where are they?" I asked referring to the weres that have shown aggressive tendencies. "We took them downstairs." I frowned but I trusted Tiana's judgment. She wouldn't have done that if there was another option. Seeing my frown, she continued "One of them, Hannah had attacked a guard. He is being treated. Honestly Al, I am worried about the lady, unlike the others, she neither cried nor screamed. And the worst part, she is with a pup." What?!"No one had expected her to become aggressive, the only reason Ayla and I had brought her down here was because we heard her mate was in
Sophia's POV The ringing of my phone had woken me up. The thought that the caller might be Alexios had me awake almost immediately. "Hi." I hated how disappointed my voice had sounded."Hi Sophia. How are you doing? I called twice earlier but your mom said you were sleeping." Skylar sounded concerned and worried which only made me feel even worse."Yeah. I was stressed both mentally and physically so I slept it off." I hadn't realized how long I had slept for not until I looked at my phone. "As long as you are okay." Skylar sighed relieved. "I am okay I promise. So what about you? How are you doing?" I have to be the worst friend in existence. I had totally forgotten to check in on Skylar, all I had in mind all day was Alexios. "I am doing well. We had been all worried earlier when dad left for work only to come back with news that something strange was happening. It was crazy because no one seemed to know what was happening but I think it is all cool now. From my window, I can s
Allison POV "They are here." Announced a pack member as we watched their cars drive in. 'He is home and nothing else matters.' I thought as I watched their car pull over.Sobs from some pack members could be heard as the corpses of the falling heroes were brought out. Their remains are proof of how ruthless those rogues are. Swallowing, I moved forward to open the car in which my husband and Alpha is in."Hey baby." I greeted him as I took him in. His left leg was wrapped up from above the knee down to his toes. I swallowed back the tears once more."Thank you for coming back to me." I mind-linked him. I knew saying that out loud would have made some pack members frown at me. Some had lost families, lost friends, lost their mates, in this fight. The pack has lost some really good members so if they heard my selfish remark, they would definitely not be happy about it."The desire to see your lovely face had been the only reason I fought to return." He confessed as he took my hand pull
Sophia's POVIt was already 9 PM and mom had locked up. Since dad traveled, we would always make sure we locked the doors early to avoid any intruder from coming in. While we sat in the living room, we heard a knock. "Who could be at the door at this hour?" Mom asked and I shrugged. I wasn't expecting anyone to visit except Alexios."Could it be him?" I asked when we suddenly heard his voice."It is me, Alexios. Please open the door." His voice had me sprinting toward the door as I pulled it open to let him inside."Hey baby." He whispered as he looked at me smiling. I hugged him, I felt like he needed a hug. Although he was smiling, he looked unhappy, sad."I am going to give you kids some privacy but don't go making kids in my absence." Said mom which made Alexios chuckle while I blushed scarlet. Can she not embarrass me?"I missed you." He whispered as his hands stayed wrapped up around my waist."And I missed you too." I told him truthfully. Although our day hadn't gone as planned
Sophia's POV"So?" Although Alexios asked, I felt like he already knew the answer. The small smile playing on his lips, and the mischievousness of his gaze made me pause."Did you hear I and mom's talk?" I asked him. The possibility is low, I had left him in the living room and moreover, when I went into mom's room, I had shut the door after myself."Why? Was I meant to hear something?" He is lying. Alexios is an awful liar. When he lies, he avoids eye contact, he would always looks anywhere but at me, at my eyes, and he tends to stammer a little.Deciding to ignore it, as calling him out on his lie would only further embarrass him at being caught on eavesdropping, I held onto his hand as we both walked to my room. "I doubt I have a suitable pajama here that you can use." I spoke as I rummaged through my wardrobe looking for anything to give him. Should I have asked mom for dad's pajama's? Would that even be right?"I actually prefer sleeping without clothes on." He whispered behind
