Chapter sixty-eight: Victory!
Zander was as always in his dark room, thinking about the way to finally finish off the hybrid, when there was a light knock on the door. It was Andrew, who after opening the door entered and stood in front of him.
“One of the 'marauders' has just arrived,” he said to his father, “he brought a message from the alpha's son.”
Zander stared at him. Despite the darkness, Andrew could see a faint glimmer in his gray eyes.
“And what is that message?” He asked with a cold voice.
“He wants to end all of this at once. You and him. Alone, with no one else. He challenges you to face him, if you dare.”
“He's very bold,” Zander said, annoyed. “"It's very bold," said Zander, annoyed. He knows he has an advantage for being what he is.”

The two groups of luxury cars, about fifteen or twenty each, were arriving at the agreed area on the outskirts of the city and on the grounds of an abandoned industrial complex. Daniel never needed to transform again until he was twenty-five years old, when an unfortunate incident occurred. He had a girlfriend his own age named Brooke, who he had met in college, a normal girl and very beautiful. They loved each other very much. So much so that they were already beginning to make plans for the future despite being so young. Since Daniel was already working with his father and had become independent, he was willing to live with her and once asked her to move into his apartment with him. She did not accept at first, thinking that perhaps they would have to slow down their relationship a little, despite future plans. He thought that perhaps the amount of venom in his body was not enough to kill him, but he immediately dismissed that possibility since he had seen throughout his life how many of his own died with just a superficial bite. Daniel's was a deep bite, which meant the amount of venom injected could be a lot. Even Dansk, who came to visit him from time to time, was surprised by the boy's resistance. Sitting each on one side of the bed, they watched as Daniel was torn between life and death, both thinking and reviewing all the knowledge in their minds with reference to werewolves and vampires, looking for some explanation for what was happening to that boy. Darius and Christopher were still shocked at what had happened with Daniel. They couldn't explain how he was still alive after the attack of the vampire's venom, and especially after they inoculated him with the antiserum that would have allowed that venom to act freely in his body. But their surprise at his situation was nothing compared to the impression they had caused seeing him transformed into something they had never seen before, although Amira seemed not to be so affected, since at no time did she leave his side.
