Daniel never needed to transform again until he was twenty-five years old, when an unfortunate incident occurred. He had a girlfriend his own age named Brooke, who he had met in college, a normal girl and very beautiful. They loved each other very much. So much so that they were already beginning to make plans for the future despite being so young. Since Daniel was already working with his father and had become independent, he was willing to live with her and once asked her to move into his apartment with him. She did not accept at first, thinking that perhaps they would have to slow down their relationship a little, despite future plans. Sitting each on one side of the bed, they watched as Daniel was torn between life and death, both thinking and reviewing all the knowledge in their minds with reference to werewolves and vampires, looking for some explanation for what was happening to that boy. Darius and Christopher were still shocked at what had happened with Daniel. They couldn't explain how he was still alive after the attack of the vampire's venom, and especially after they inoculated him with the antiserum that would have allowed that venom to act freely in his body. But their surprise at his situation was nothing compared to the impression they had caused seeing him transformed into something they had never seen before, although Amira seemed not to be so affected, since at no time did she leave his side.
