Chapter fifty seven

Kendrick sat at the head of his lavish dining table, his piercing eyes staring off into the distance. The room was lit by flickering candles that cast eerie shadows on the walls, and the only sound was the soft rustling of fabric as Kendrick shifted in his chair.

His plans to reach Claire in another pack through dark magic had failed.

His jaw clenched as he recalled the countless hours he had spent pouring over ancient texts, searching for a way to break through the barriers that separated him from his prey.

And yet, despite his best efforts, he had been unable to do anything but stare at them both.

Who the hell was that man anyway?

Frustrated and angry, Kendrick began to wreak havoc in the dining room.

He slammed his fists down on the table, sending plates and silverware flying in all directions.
