Chapter 48 - Alex

I stare down at my glass of whiskey and pout. 

How could I be so stupid?  I should have known better, but somehow, I couldn’t see what was really going on.  Was I really wrapped around his finger that much to not realize what was actually happening?

I don’t even have to answer.  I already know the answer. 

Yes.  David has me wrapped so tight around his finger that I can’t think of anything else but him. 

A soft snort spills from me as I grab my glass and take another chug of liquor.  The alcohol burns as it slides down my throat, but it doesn’t burn as much as my heart right now.  Nothing can compare to the pain in my chest. 

I set the glass back down on the counter and watch the ice shuffle back and forth before they finally come to a rest. 

I block out everything around me as the image of that girl kissing David comes flooding back into my mind.  His smile
