Chapter 58 His Heir

"What do you mean, Arah? Don't give me incoherent words" for the nth time, Luther asks. He won't jump into assumptions until Arah speaks clearly.

"Ther..." she gulps hard.

"I'm pregnant" she quickly added, closing her eyes. And it's been a while since she waited for his reaction but got nothing.

Slowly, she tries to peek with one eye. Just to find him staring at her. Inscrutable of what was in his mind.

"You've been away for four months with my child. That long" he grimly mutters.

"I didn't know, I swear" she fervently tries to convince him, afraid of the grimness he is showing.

While anxiously waiting, she watches his unremarkable countenance. But her brows furrowed seeing despair cross his eyes.

"I let you go alone with my child. Unprotected. I was so irresponsible" after a while of silence, he whispers. The anguish in his voice is evident that she felt it too.
