Heidi’s POV
I still couldn’t believe she was who I thought she was, so I had to ask. “What are you doing here?”
She flashed me a surprised smile. “Heidi! I really didn’t know I was coming to your house until I got into the street. It’s such a small world, yeah?”
I scoffed, glaring at her. “First, it was you and now, it’s your mother who’s trying to force her way into my dad’s life?”
The smile on her face disappeared. “My Mom would never force herself on any one. She’s beautiful and successful. She’s a lawyer.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. Bla bla bla.” I rolled my eyes, turned away from the door as I walked back in, leaving her standing at the doorway.
Dad stared at me as I walked back to my seat. “Where is she?”
“She what?”
“She just knocked at the door right now, Heidi. When will you stop being so perky...” he stopped talking when he heard Daniella’s shoes making noise on the floor behind him. He snapped around to look back at me. “Heidi! When did you become so rude?”
I gasped. “What did I do!”
“You should have at least, led her into the house.”
“Really? Was I supposed to hold her hands or what?”
“Good evening sir…” Daniella greeted, breaking the argument.
Dad sighed and turned away from me. “You must be Daniella. How are you doing?”
“I’m great. Where’s my mom?”
“She is in the kitchen.” Dad replied her.
“Can I join her?”
“Sure. Go ahead.” Dad replied her with a smile.
I mobbed at Daniella as she traced her steps to the kitchen. “Boy stealer.” I mumbled under my breath.
“What was that?” Dad threw at me.
I stared at him and shook my head. “Since when last did we ever have an argument, dad? Can’t you see what these people are doing to us? They are tearing us apart!”
“No, they are not. You are the one who’s being unnecessarily bothered about having a step mother and sister. Luciana is a nice woman. She will never…”
“I’ve heard enough in one night. I think I’d better go to my room now. Goodnight with your newest family.” I said with a feigned smile, turned and took the stairs.
“Now, you are walking out on me?” Dad shouted behind me.
Well, I didn’t even turn to glance at him. I marched straight to my room, slammed the door shut.
I breathed in with rage, moving from one side of the room to another side.
There was something about this woman…this Luciana woman I seriously wanted to figure out. The air around her was strange.
I’d only known her for a short period of time, but then, I knew she was on a mission; mission to come between my father and I.
I wasn’t gonna let that happen. Never.
(SOMEWHERE IN TEXAS)
A young dark haired woman came out of a black SUV, her sunglasses were so huge they were almost covering her face. Her lemon gown seemed to shine bright with the sun with her matching lemon bag.
She took them off when she got to the main office of the large building, and turned around as if waiting for someone.
“Raymond! When are you getting out of the car?!” She yelled across her shoulder.
The passenger door of the car bumped open and a tall blonde haired guy came out, smiling sheepishly. “You need to try and relax, Cassandra. Stop being paranoid at every slightest opportunity.”
“I’ve not spoken to Martha all day, I need to know what’s going on with the plan.”
“You think the plan is working?” Raymond asked as he walked closer to her. Together, they walked into the house.
Cassandra dropped her bag on the nearest sofa, turned towards the window with a determined look on her face. “It has to work. I can’t just lose everything just like that. I have to call her right away. I need to know how things are going.”
“Here.” Raymond passed her a cellphone as he slid behind her. He held her waistline, rained feather kisses at the back of her neck. “You smell nice.”
Cassandra rolled her eyes. “I’m not in the mood for this right now, Raymond. Let’s get to business.”
“Hmm. Really? Your body is already trembling under my fingers. What do you say about that?” Raymond whispered into her ear, nibbled at the hollow of her throat.
Cassandra threw her head backwards, revealing more of her neck as she moaned softly. “You sure do know my weak points, don’t you? When are you gonna stop bothering?”
“Never. I couldn’t possibly get enough of you, Cassie. Give me the opportunity of taking you to bed tonight.” Raymond whispered into her ear.
Cassandra suddenly slipped away from his grasp, held the cellphone in front of her. “I need to make the call right now.”
Raymond stepped back, ran a big palm over his head. “Let’s continue once you are done.”
“Shut up.” Cassandra mumbled as she dialed a number on the cellphone. She held it against her ear, and few minutes later, the other line was connected.
“Martha. How’s it going?”
There was a slight pause at the end of the other line. “It’s going on fine, boss. I have a little headache but I think I can take care of it.”
Cassandra frowned slightly. “A little headache? What could that be?”
“You don’t need to worry about it boss. Like I said before, it’s just a little headache.”
“Okay. I will transfer your first payment tonight. Please, bi mistakes. I repeat, no mistakes.”
“Roger that.”
Cassandra cut the line before glaring at Raymond. She breathed in and shrugged. “She says it’s going fine. I will be giving her the first payment tonight.”
“That’s cool. Can we get back to what we were doing?” Raymond mumbled as he moved towards her.
He pulled her closer, fused his lips on hers as they kissed fiercely.
He encircled his arms around her, pulled her down on the sofa before going down with her. “Gosh. You are so soft.”
Cassandra sighed deeply with her eyes closed. “Getting intimate like this reminds me of things I thought I’d forgotten. I don’ like this.” She mumbled.
Raymond pulled down her zipper, a mischievous smile on his face. “You aren’t a log of wood, Cassandra. You are a woman and you need some touch.” He mumbled against her neck, before finally taking off her gown.
Now naked beneath him, Cassandra sighed and finally surrendered to the sensation growing inside of her.
🌿7🌿 NEWTON Heidi’s POV I woke up a little bit late because I didn’t feel like going to school. I didn’t even feel like stepping out of my room, because I didn’t wanna bump into Luciana and her daughter. I didn’t feel like doing anything. Yes, that was how mad and irritated I was. But I needed to go to school. The school concert was coming up, and I badly wanted a lead role. I was brushing my hair in front of my mirror when a small knock landed on my door. I snapped around to look at the door, wondering who could be knocking. “What do you want??” “It’s me, my love. It’s dad. Do you mind opening…” “No! No, dad. I’m not gonna do that.” I replied, turning back to the mirror. “You know I love you, right? I really do, and you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. You are the most important thing in my life. Trust me, my love.” Dad’s voice sounded soothing, apologetic. And all the anger I felt started to drop. I turned, walked towards the door. When I opened the
🌿8🌿 🌿Heidi’s POV 🌿I stared on in shock as the ambulance left with the police van.Dad held my hand, squeezed tightly, helping me to calm down.It was as though, I was dreaming. Why would someone wanna kill an old quiet lady like Aryan's grandmother?“Dearie…you have to go in and offer Aryan some support. She doesn’t have anyone now.”I stared up at dad, nodded and made my way into the house.*I put a arm around Aryan as we sat together on her bed. We were silent. Everywhere was damn silent except for her sniffing. There was an unanswered question in the air. When I turned to look at Aryan, she was already staring at me.“Did she tell you what she wanted to say to me?” I asked quietly.Aryan shook her head and more tears fell off her red eyes. “No. And I think it’s related to her death. I think she found out something very serious, I think she saw what she shouldn’t have seen.”“And why would she choose to tell me instead? Why did she choose me?” I asked, really confused.
🌿9🌿 🌿 Heidi’s POV 🌿“Am I interrupting?” Daniella asked again as she got closer enough.“Daniella? What…are you doing here?” Lucas asked as he disengaged from me.Daniella smiled at him. “I’ve not had the chance to tell you that Heidi’s father and my mom are getting married.”“What!” Lucas exclaimed.I looked at Daniella, amazed at her gut. “My father is never going to marry your mother. Get that into your head. It’s never gonna happen, and do you know why? Because my mother will come back home!”Daniella chuckled. “It is better you stop dreaming.”“What did you just say to me?” I asked, glaring hard at her.“Okay, girls. Please, can you stop already? Why are you always at each other’s neck?”Just then, I looked up to see Luciana walking into the house too.Grumbling, I turned and stared walking away.“Heidi. Wait.”It was Luciana, stopping me authoritatively.I turned to look at her, folded my arms. “What do you want?”“I only want us to get along for your father’s sake, Heid
🌿10🌿 🌿 Heidi’s POV 🌿“Nate? Are you there?” I asked when the other line still remained silent.“Set…up who?”“Can you do it? I need to know if you will be able to do it.”“And what’s in for me, huh?” Nate asked after some time.I stood up from my bed, walked to the door and locked it before walking towards the window. “I will be your girlfriend.”Nate gasped from the other side of the line. “Are you serious right now? How do I trust you?”“I give you my word, Nate. I will go out with you.”“Okay. What’s the plan? Who am I setting up?”I smiled at the question. Exactly what I wanted to hear. TEXAS 🌿Cassandra’s POV🌿“Why would you do that!” I yelled into the phone, really flabbergasted. My hand trembled, really pissed off at the piece of news I was getting from the other side of the line.“Martha! This is going to complicate things! And before that happens, just know you won’t get a penny from me!”There was a sigh from the other side of the line. “I’m sorry boss, bu
🌿11🌿🌿 Lucas’s POV🌿“What are you staring at?” Daniella asked, waking me up from my dazzled state. She turned and her head, saw Heidi and turned back to look at me. “Is that her boyfriend?”“No!” I didn’t mean to snap but I did. “Sorry for snapping.”Heidi and Nate got to the spot we stood, and I held Heidi’s hand before she could walk by. “I want to speak to you.”Heidi glanced at Daniella, back at me. “You were talking to your girlfriend, isn’t it? I’m going to class with Nate.”“Can you just stay here for a while and allow him go to class on his own? He’s not a baby, and I’m sure he can find his way to his desk.” I replied, all the while, looking at Nate who scoffed at the end of my statement.“Heidi might be your bestie, but that doesn’t mean she can’t talk with someone else.” Nate retorted.I closed my eyes, willing myself to stay calm. “I need to speak with Heidi. Can you please continue your way to the class? She will join you very soon.” I was so pissed off.I saw Heidi
🌿12🌿 🌿 Heidi’s POV 🌿“What are you doing here?” I repeated the question.Luciana flashed me a smile, and shuffled the papers in her hand. Her nervousness was gone in a flash. “Nothing. I came by to make dinner for you guys, and when I came here, I found everywhere so messy, and thought I should do some cleaning.”I was silent. Looking at her with this strange look on my face.Of course, I didn’t believe a single word of what she said. Not even a word.I folded my arms, walked slowly into the room. “Does my father know you are here?”“Well…”“It is a 'no' or 'yes' question, Luciana.” I interrupted.Luciana turned, dropped the files in her hand on the drawer, then turned back to look at me. “No, he doesn’t know because I planned to surprise him.”I chuckled, and stared back at her. “You planned to surprise my father? What do you take me for, huh? It’s so glaring that you are searching for something! What are you looking for?”Luciana sighed with that innocent look still on her
🌿13🌿🌿 Lucas’s POV 🌿“I’m home!” I announced as I walked into the house. I dropped down my guitar in front of door, and looked up to see my mother coming down the stairs. She was wearing her nightwear, and that was when I realized how late it was.“Lucas. What happened? It’s almost ten pm.” Mom questioned. There was a cup of coffee in her hand as she walked towards me.“I’m sorry mom, but I was in the studio with the boys. We had to practice.” I replied, took her coffee cup, and sipped from it.Mom watched me and chuckled. “You always sip my coffee ever since you were little, and you still do.”I passed it back to her, smiling. “I know, right? I’m sorry if I got you worried. I will…” My phone beeped, alerting me of a message.“I will be in my room mom. Goodnight.” I said as I flipped out my phone from my pocket, took the stairs.I stopped in my tracks as my eyes caught the content of my latest message.I couldn’t believe my eyes. It was pictures of Daniella and some boy, sp
🌿 Episode 14 🌿 🌿 Heidi’s POV 🌿All through the night, Daniella kept throwing her arms and legs at me, pushing me off the bed, and giving me sleepless night. She threw up again, and I was so lucky she poured it out on the floor.By the time it was morning, I was seriously exhausted. As if the disastrous night wasn’t enough, the annoying girl had a hangover.Without having the power to stop myself, I had to go downstairs, make her soup and brought it up to my room for her. I served her breakfast in bed. Me?Wait a minute. Was I feeling guilty for setting her up?*Is that why am helping her?* No. She deserved it!“Thank you, Heidi. I never thought…” She started, and stopped to wince in pain, “This headache is killing me.” She cried.“Okay. Enjoy of this. I think I’ve helped you enough. You have to get going.” I voiced out, pointing at the door.As if she didn’t hear a bit of the words I said, she looked confusingly at me. “Do you know what happened last night? I can’t seem to rem
