CHAPTER THIRTEEN

*Tony*

I stood there staring at her with mouth opened. She looked so stunning in that dress, I barely recognized her as boss queen. She had loosened her hair and coiled it. I watched her draw closer as she descended the stairs. I studied her every single step she made. Thanks to the short length of the gown, I was able to look and admire her perfect and flawless straight legs.

"Hi!" She greeted as soon as she reached where I stood, the exit door of their house. I suddenly lost my tongue because I knew not what to say.

"You look breathtakingly gorgeous." I complimented the very first thing that came in mind.

"Well you don't look bad either." She replied and I nodded.

We stood there staring at each other in the eyes and I don't know if her eyes communicated what mine did because she broke off the connection.

"Well let's get going." I told her and and lead her to where my car was parked. As the gentleman that I am, I opened the door for her to get in.

I stood by Cynthia's window and watched the two of them leave the house inside his car. It could have been me but he decided to go out with her. It could have been me by his side but he decided to make me his past [She smirks].

No one dumps me and goes Scot free. Tony Hartz, I once loved you but right now.... I hate you more than I ever loved you.

"Will you keep standing there or should I remind you that you are in my room?" Cynthia interrupted my thoughts. I sighed in annoyance.

Of course, I knew I was in her room and I wasn't going to spend another minute in here. Besides, I had better plans on ruining their perfect date.

"Don't worry." I told her, "I was about leaving anyway." I added and left her room.

I needed to ruin their date but there was nothing I could do. Yet something kept telling me their perfect date was going to be ruined. And I wasn't going to cover my eyes until she returned.

///GENERAL///

Tony had taken Sophia to one of the best restaurants he knew in the town. Sophia was impressed as she constantly nodded her head while admiring the beauty of the place. When they entered the restaurant, a *wow* escaped her lips as she wasn't expecting it to be that big and beautiful.

"Is this your first time here?" Tony asked, a little bewildered by her behaviour.

He wasn't expecting her to be that surprised since she was the daughter of a rich man and her wealth on its own made her a rich lady.

"Are you kidding me?" She asked him, still dazzled by the beauty of the restaurant.

"Of course not. But it's far better than the way it was five years ago." She added and he nodded.

"Oh!" He exclaimed.

He had forgotten that she left for India to better her medical studies.

A waitress approached them and led them to their table in the VIP section. She looked at Tony and winked seductively. She licked the bottom of her lips and it irritated him.

"Anything for you sir?" She asked with the sweetest voice, she could ever feign.

"Yes! Please get me a waiter and not a stupid waitress as you." He snorted and she was pissed. She mumbled something to her hearing only and left.

"You were too harsh on her." Sophia noted and he scoffed.

"Seriously you are a total jerk when it comes to work but when you are around others, you are a cold CEO." She added.

"It's not my fault that I'm super cute but I don't expect any girl to just start looking at me and trying to seduce me." He sneered and she just chuckled.

"Sir your order." A waiter attended to them. Tony looked at the young man before him and nodded.

"What will you like to eat or drink?" He asked Sophia who just shrugged.

"Fruit juice." She demanded and the waiter took down Tony's order before leaving.

"So what do we talk about?" Tony asked.

"Anything!" She replied.

"Well then tell me more about yourself. Your childhood, what you like, what you dislike, how you ended up as Millicent's daughter?" He told her.

        SOPHIA'S POV

At the mention of Millicent's name, my  countenance changed completely.

Recalling all my past childhood memories, how she starved me on countless occasions, how she will beat the hell out of me if I didn't wash her children's dresses.

I shook my head in disagreement, I will tell him only when I am ready.

I feigned a smile and turned to Tony.

"Tony, why don't you start?" I asked and he shrugged.

"Ok then I will tell you about myself." He replied.

"But you have to tell me too, ok?" He added and I nodded.

"Well you know my name and age already. We weren't from a rich family as you." He mentioned *we*, meaning he isn't Mr Hartz only child.

"Yea. I'm not his only son as per say. We were four to my parents. I was the first born and my followers were a set of beautiful triplets who were the second borns." He paused before resuming.

"My parents loved themselves so much but things had to change when my father's business was growing beyond ordinary... as she thought. He suddenly became a politician and we were becoming not just rich but famous. They started having countless arguments on a daily basis, until one day when she went out with the babies, never to return..."

His story was pathetic and similar to mine. And just like me, he didn't break down. But unlike me, his mom abandoned him while mine died.

"After weeks of searching, dad decided to accept that mom left him for someone else. But leaving with his children, he didn't want to accept it." Tony finalized and I felt bad for him.

I felt relief after he shared his story with me. I suddenly grew bold enough to share mine. I cleared my throat to start.

"Well..." I tried continuing when a waiter came to us. But before then, Tony had started feeling uncomfortable. But since he didn't take his uneasiness serious, I turned back to the waiter.

"Anything?" I asked and he nodded.

"There is an eclipse outside and I came to inform you all just in case you wanted to see things for yourselves." He said and left.

"Did you hear that Tony? He said t..." I couldn't complete my statement at the sight before me. Tony was struggling for his life as he held onto his neck. He was choking and coughing out blood.

"T... T... Tony!!" I managed to call his name since I was too shocked. But reality struck me as It was indeed my Tony trying to survive.
