While at the hospital, Mabel sat beside Armstrong's bed and they kept staring at each other.

"Why are you staring at me like that?" Mabel asked.

Armstrong, who was lying on the bed, said, "I could ask you the same. Why are you staring at me, Mabel?"

"Well, I asked you first," she said. "So answer my question."

He smiled. "Well, I cannot help it. My eyes are meant to look at beautiful girls."

Mabel squinted her eyes. "Are you saying that even if someone else was here and she was beautiful, you would stare at her?"

"You can interpret as you deem fit," Armstrong replied.

She slapped him on his shoulder, and he said, "Ouch! Why are you being so mean to me? Come on, I'm sick."

She frowned, "I don't like what you said. Why would you tell me that you'll look at other girls? You're not allowed to look at other girls."

"Yes, ma'am," he replied with a smile. "Do you think I have eyes for other girls when you're here?"
