Bastian smiled and went to sit on the bed while Amy turned and faced him angrily.

He said, "Fine, I know you will not believe me. I don't blame you. My past isn't exactly nice."

"Really?" Amy asked. "So wait, are you trying to tell me that you've changed?"

"Isn't it obvious?" Bastian asked.

"No, it isn't," Amy replied.

"Come on, Amy. You can't say that you haven't seen some changes in me. I mean, the Bastian of before wouldn't go around chasing you and begging you.

Yes, I'm not proud of who I was. I was a jerk, and I admit that. But I am a changed man, Amy. To be very honest, after you left, I realized how important you were to me. I didn't want to tell you all this until you've forgiven me, but I think it's important for me to say it now so you'll understand why I cannot give up on you no matter what.
