Dante’s Point Of View

(My wife, Lena)

I watched her every move, I stared at her while she saw the movie, I could count how many times she blinked in a minute. It was like she was the movie I was supposed to watch, a more interesting one.

Maybe if I look at her so well, I will not see the clear difference between her and Gwen. I wanted to be blind to the difference, I wanted to believe so well that she was my Gwen, so I could get used to it and not make the mistake of calling her Lena but the difference was clear, Gwen would never be this way around me.

When she was alone around me, it was evident that she wasn’t my wife, she was herself when she was around me; silly, full of smiles and happiness, the fact that even in her weakest moment, she could still hang a smile on her face was beautiful.

I watched my wife, Lena fall asleep in the theater room, like she did the last time. It was like the theater room was now a place for sleeping.
