Silver Shackles

My hands trembled as I looked from the king towards Prince Dan. He was casually leaning against the throne. His eyes narrowed when he noticed my hesitation.

“Do you need help taking them off?” he said mockingly before the king lifted his hand towards the guards and they quickly pulled out their weapons at his wordless command before they start to approach me.

My legs almost gave up on me as I stood under the spotlight with everyone closing in on me like a scared little deer, waiting to be hurt.
