The Banquet

The entire walk towards the banquet was done in silence. Whatever small amount of confidence I had before now was suddenly a passing memory. I felt weak, fragile and inadequate as compared to all the people am about to meet at the banquet. I know everything I’m feeling is all in my head was still, I can’t help but wonder.

We stopped before two large door and a guard stepped forward and allowed us entrance. Even though we weren’t announced, we were immediately greeted by seas of eye from around the entire ballroom, that was filled with bodies of beautiful people clothes in the highest valued fabric and jewelries.

Otis pulled us further into the crowd with an air of familiarity that spoke of his experience with these type of event. He greeted some people as we by passed people he knew without introducing me. We were halfway across the crowd of people before we came across a small crowd of men surrounding.
