Chapter 57 Still of Some Use

Joyce's tone was calm and confident. It was as if she had already seen through Jean's thoughts.

She was right. Jean wouldn't do it.

After spending years with Tyler, she had learned too much about their relationship. She knew that Joyce's marriage with Tyler was merely one that was based on superficial interests. Joyce and Tyler did not have the kind of love that Jean had initially imagined.

She clenched her phone tightly. Her expression was solemn as she spoke in a low voice, "If you push me too far, I might just let the truth out."

Without waiting for Joyce's response, she hung up the call.

Joyce tried calling her again, but Jean refused to answer.

They had treated her like a tool, not family. Jean no longer felt the need to respect the Michaelses.

Joyce's expression darkened, and she angrily threw her phone against the door. The loud noise echoed all the way downstairs.

Dorothy hurried upstairs. Upon seeing the shattered phone screen, her expression changed.
