Chapter 51 Nowhere to Run

Jean had gotten used to Dorothy's attitude. She followed behind her as they walked upstairs.

Joyce stood in the study with her back to them by the floor-to-ceiling window. She seemed lost in thought.

When she walked in, Dorothy shot Jean a disgusted look.

She asked in a stern tone, "Joyce, she said that you agreed to the divorce."

Joyce did not respond immediately to that question. She remained facing away from them.

At Joyce's silence, Dorothy immediately assumed that it was Jean's scheme.

"Your sister sacrificed so much for our family. Why couldn't you just persevere for a while longer?"

Jean furrowed her brows. She stared at Joyce's back darkly.

When Joyce still remained quiet, she took a deep breath. She had to hold her emotions back as Dorothy's accusation rang in her ears.

The Michaelses placed high importance on personal interest. As such, Jean attempted to persuade them with her words.
