Caraline woke up to the sound of the alarm. She scrambled out of bed, looking at the clock on the table. Seven o'clock in the morning. Light from outside the room seemed to be trapped in a gap in the curtains.Half an hour later, Caraline was at the dining table. She ate a quiet breakfast. She saw a maid walking towards the kitchen, disappearing when she passed the wall. "Be quiet, Caraline. Don't be foolish enough to follow her."Caraline focused on her meal. When she finished breakfast, the woman quickly made her way to the backyard. She bumped into Helen who had just come from the front."You're early, Helen," Caraline said."I slept very well last night," Helen replied. The two women walked toward the edge of the lake to await Deric's presence.Caraline looked back at Helen. "But, it looks like you stayed up late last night. I can see the bags under your eyes even though you tried to cover them with makeup. Can't wait for this day to come? Your appearance has also changed a bit."
Caraline hurried to the elevator after taking a quick look at Diego's appearance. She massaged her head gently at the man's actions, which she thought were unnecessary. The tall man followed her into the elevator with a smile on his face. The narrow space was now only occupied by the two of them."What do you say we take a vacation around the coast?" Diego asked, "I have a great place to go.""I'm just afraid that our tastes and judgments differ," Caraline replied without turning around, "what's good for you doesn't mean it's good for me, right?""Then what places do you like?" Diego turned to Caraline."Should I answer your question?" Caraline tucked her hair behind her ear, glancing at Diego. "I thought you were going to surprise me.""Okay." Diego straightened his suit jacket for a moment. "Don't blame me if you're surprised when you see it.""That happens if I want to go with you." Caraline smiled slightly, exiting the elevator as soon as the doors opened.Diego nodded briefly wit
"You'd better take that back," Caraline said, "Deric is... a vicious dog to new people it meets. You're bound to get into trouble." "Come on, Caraline," Diego coaxed, "isn't it... just a dog? We just need to bring it to its knees so Deric understands who's in charge of it.""Yes, Deric is a dog." Caraline smiled. It felt very satisfying to say that. "Let's not talk about that annoying barking animal."Diego leaned back in the chair. "But you seem to enjoy talking about your dog. I could see you smiling when you said it.""Really?" Caraline raised one eyebrow, tucking her hair into her ear. She picked up some of the dishes on the table. "You have a good imagination."Caraline took another sip from her glass. She was surprised to see a few people glancing into her and Diego's room with occasional whispers. Although she was in a different room and they could not see her at the moment, she could see the situation outside clearly. "Don't mind those ignorant people," Diego said."What do
Heavy rain poured down on Heaventown this afternoon. Drops of water were trapped on the window pane. Deric and Helen were at a cafe having lunch. Several people were seen running outside the building to avoid the rain, followed by vehicles pulling over to the side of the road. The cafe was rather quiet. There were only a few tables occupied. Some employees were seen cleaning up some dirty tables and delivering orders.Deric observed the water droplets on the side glass. His fingers slowly followed the falling raindrops which then coalesced into larger droplets. His gaze seemed to be locked on those objects even though two glasses of hot chocolate and two slices of bread were now served on the table."You won't get your fill just by looking at me, Helen," Deric said as he turned to the woman in front of him.Helen suddenly tensed up. Although the cold air came with the rain, her face felt hot. The bespectacled woman quickly turned her gaze to the other side. "I-I... didn't do it.""Eat
Caraline got out as the car pulled up in front of the lobby of a building. She took off her sunglasses and took in the building in front of her. This was her first time visiting this place.During the trip, Caraline searched for information about the location, but the internet couldn't give her the news she was expecting. This place did not appear in the search field. She was gripped with doubt, but she dared to put her trust in Diego."This is one of Universe Corporation's newest properties. It's not open to the public yet. However, Henry Hulbert was kind enough to allow me to be the first to visit this place," Diego said, suddenly appearing behind Caraline."Really?" Caraline let out a long breath, taking in the surroundings. This place was elegant, classic, and stunning at the same time. For some time, the woman didn't stop showing a look of admiration."You're not going to stand here forever, are you?" Deigo chuckled briefly. "Come on in, you'll see more amazing things in there."
Caraline quickly grabbed the bag on the dressing table. She left the room in a hurry. The annoyance was still clearly painted on her beautiful face. During her time under the shower, she couldn't stop sneering at Deric. However, she did not dare to wish him anything bad. It was strange, every time she wished for something bad to happen to him, she found herself the victim.Caraline passed through a rather long hallway. She was immediately greeted by the wind and cold air as her long legs stepped onto the balcony. The crashing waves could be heard from her current position. The view of the sea and its surroundings was truly a feast for the eyes."Do you like it here?" asked Diego, who appeared from behind Caraline."I hope you can judge for yourself," Caraline replied without looking at him. She moved towards the balcony railing."What happened to your arm?" Diego asked once he was next to Caraline. He gently stroked the small red line-shaped wound. "Are you okay?""I've never been bet
"It’s too bad, I don't believe in miracles." Caraline deliberately chose to sit in a chair that Diego did not pull out. She crossed her legs, smiling haughtily.Unexpectedly, Diego suddenly squatted in front of Caraline. He took a handkerchief from his pants pocket, cleaning Caraline's feet. "This will make you feel better.""What... are you doing?" asked Caraline in a panicked tone. The woman immediately restrained Diego's hand. Seeing the CEO of a famous automotive company acting like this toward her was making her uncomfortable. "I can do it myself.""Let me be in charge." Diego removed Caraline's fingers from his hand one by one. "I made you take off your shoes. So let me put them back on." "I... just don't want anyone to think anything of it." Caraline objected."It would be better if in my position I gave you a ring instead of putting your shoes on." Diego chuckled briefly, fitting the heels onto Caraline's smooth feet. Once he was done, he sat down in the chair he had pulled
Caraline and Diego were still at the dinner table. After the conversation about the Otopixel CEO's desire to meet Deric, there was no conversation for the next few minutes. Both of two were focused on enjoying the meal and the music."Did uou know Universe Corporation will be holding the biggest talent search event in the country in a few months? The grand winner of that event will be contracted by Art Media, one of their company for several years. As we all know, artists under their management go on to achieve great success," Diego said, breaking the silence, "I think it's a good opportunity for you to work with them. It will attract the attention of the whole country.""You're not bragging, are you?" asked Caraline, "I heard that the Universe Corporation doesn't like to divulge some of their agendas to the public. They prefer to surprise the public with unexpected news.""Henry Hulbert told me that himself," Diego said, adjusting his suit jacket. "I don't know, even though it was th
