Date The Christian

Being introverted, anytime she went to a party, she usually just watched other people from a corner and tonight was no different. There was a small gathering at the VIP lounge, about five men. She had been staring at them for a while.

They seemed to be really important people and she was a short distance away from them when she noticed one of them was watching her. She didn’t get a good look at him but he kind of stood out amongst the other men. He was also in a dark suit and his dark hair shone in the blue disco light.

She tried to not pay attention to his inauspicious gaze, but she kept turning to look at him until another guy, one just about his age, walked up to her.

“Hey baby, looking good,” he slurred.

“Thanks,” she simply said.

She didn't know him and the fact that he was old enough to be her father didn't help him in his attempt to get her attention.

“Can we go somewhere private and talk?” The guy asked and she scoffed.

“No. Thanks,” she turned away from him and searched for her friend, Jason.

She was already tired of the party. So many rich and classy people–she felt out of place, and to be honest, the party was kinda boring. She was only there because Jason had invited her.

“Come on, beautiful! Why are you playing hard to get—” The man tried to grab her hand.

“She said no,” Another man suddenly said and when she looked up, she was surprised to see the man that had been watching her, holding her away from the other rude man.

“Your loss, bitch!” He said before walking away.

Sylvia was now alone with him. She quickly scanned his features and found him quite handsome.

His suit looked really expensive and his cologne had a wonderful smell that just did things to her body – Suspicious things!

“Hello, there,” he said to her, his voice deep and rich.

“Hi,” she replied timidly.

“I’m Christian Ferraro,” he introduced himself.

There was this confidence about him that was quite erotic, and Sylvia was definitely aroused.

“And yours?” He asked.

“Sylvy–Sylvia. Sylvia Jones,” she replied nervously, and he smiled.

“How old are you, Sylvia?” He asked.

“Twenty five,” She told him truthfully.

“Hmm,” he hummed, like he was contemplating something.

“You?”

“I'm thirty seven,” he replied, “I would like to go on a date with you.”

He caught her off guard with his statement. She knew he found her attractive from the way he had been looking at her, but asking her out on a date felt sudden. But all that didn't matter, because she was already into him!

“I don’t know, I—”

“Sylvy!” Jason waved at her and beckoned for me to come to him.

“I have to go,” She told him and before he could say anything else, she walked away and her heart was still racing.

After she got to her friend, he was curious to know who she had been talking to.

“He was no one. Just a man that introduced himself to me,” she lied.

“Whatever,” Jason waved the conversation off, “My Dad's about to cut the cake.”

“Well, what are we doing standing here talking? Let's go get some cake,” she replied.

As they walked, Sylvia’s mind immediately went back to the handsome older man that had been speaking to her. She looked out for him but before she could find him, she got a call from the hospital.

“Dr Gibson?”

Sylvia was always anxious whenever the doctor called, hoping she didn't have bad news for me. Tonight however, she did.

“What? Is she alright? Is my mother alright?”

“She's not doing too good. You should come and see her. It'll lift her spirits if you were here,” The doctor replied.

“I'm on my way right now,” she replied before hanging up.

Without hesitation, she ran out of the compound and made her way to the hospital, forgetting about everything else, including Christian Ferraro.
