Impromptu Date

Aubrey's POV

" Thank you," I whispered after entering the car. He hummed in response and turned on the heater. I didn't feel as cold as before. His body was stiff. His hands focused on the road as he drove on.

This was the best time to apologize, but trust me and my pigheadedness, I refused to. " You have passed my intersection."

He didn't reply and I stared at him, hello? " This is not the route to my house," I repeated in case he didn't hear me the first time.

" I heard you." He replied and I folded my arms.

" So, where are you taking me to?" I replied. It was raining hard, no one would hear my voice if I screamed.

He turned on the radio and Bishop Brigg's River blasted in the car. I never knew that he would be fond of our generation's music. I brought out my phone and scrolled through it to keep myself busy.

A text popped up from an unknown number. Intrigued, I opened the text.

" Hi, My name is Josh. We spoke today. I got your number from Matt."
