Aubrey's POV

It was nice meeting you, I hope we can do this some other time." Anna replied and gave Mr. Knight another glance before leaving.

" Are we going to pretend that she wasn't interrogating me?" I asked as we walked back to his car.

" No, she wasn't. Trust me, she loved meeting you. Very excited even." He agreed cryptically again.

That sure didn't look like it. It seemed that they had silent conversations with their eyes. He said he wasn't in the mob, " So, you have chains of businesses. Why are you teaching at the college?" He didn't need the money.

He sighed, and turned on the ignition,

" I was hoping that you wouldn't ask that question."

I scoffed, " Of course, I am going to ask. So? Ellie never told me that you are into any business." I replied. It was a huge deal for me because I felt that I knew everything about her and vice versa. They never lived flamboyantly so I could never imagine.

He sighed, " You can call that an inherited business. I actually live teaching."
