Chapter 7

Elle stared at the book in her hands for a while before she started chuckling "This really is fucked up" she said.

When her laughter died down she took the book and went up to her bed, she opened up to the page she stopped at and took a very deep breath before she continued reading the book again.

"Common Manda let's go" Alicia, Amanda's younger sister called out to her in an annoyed manner. She wants to get to the training arena early so that she can get to sit at the front and watch the training selection.

Amanda sighed and muttered "I'm coming". She isn't as excited as Alicia because she will be training too and she'll be super embarrassed if she doesn't get selected to be trained by the higher ranking.

Training has always been a very important thing for every family out there and she doesn't want to disappoint her's. Those that are selected to be trained are always trained by the head trainers in each department and they usually graduate as important people in the society, and fun fact, even if you don't graduate you'll still be respected by everyone

She doesn't want to end up unselected and be treated like a nobody in the society "You can do this, you are smart and strong" she reassured herself in the mirror and went outside to meet her sister, only to find out that she already left and she quickly ran after her.

When They got to the training arena, it was already filled up and Alicia gave Amanda a very deadly glare before she walked away. The entire species in the society stood there with the ones that will be going for the training selection standing in front of their specie

The Vampires stood at a particular corner, looking all proud and heartbreakingly stunning. They've always been the prettiest specie, their pale skin always make them stand out plus their beautiful and rare eye colours. They've always been known for grey and red eye colour, no vampire has ever been seen with a different eye colour.

Amanda could see them gloating, because apart from being the prettiest specie they are also undefeated and that could be seen from their proud stances and look. They looked down on everyone because, nobody, like nobody has ever been unselected in their specie. Their speed and brain has always been a blessing to them, Amanda looked at them and looked away. She hates that particular specie's attitude.

Next to them stood the werewolves, they are a bunch of wild species. They stood there and anyone could see they were itching to cause trouble, but one thing's for sure they just cause trouble cause it's fun, they never do anything that can cause great problems and they are really playful

Their beauty lies in their strength, they've got a very strong body build and sharp senses so they were always recruited. But they never looked down on anyone and for that, Amanda and everyone respected them a lot. Amanda sighted someone waving at her and she looked closer and it was Rus, she quickly gave him a thumbs up which indicates Goodluck

The faires were the life of the party they were chattering and playing around, they are the one specie that basically doesn't care if they get recruited or not. If not that participating is compulsory, they wouldn't attend. They just do their own thing. The faires are also the largest specie because there are different kinds of faires.

The flying faires also known as the wishing faires are the ones that are the most popular because people make wishes a lot. They are the tiniest of all the faires and they are also the ones that have the prettiest wings. Aiden is one of them

The next one is the Earth fairy, they look just like every normal human being out there but they have white eyes, their pupil isn't seen and that is one beautiful thing about them. They are in charge of everything that has to do with flowers, trees etc

The next is the compelling fairy, they are just like the earth fairy but instead they've got normal human eyes, but their distinctive feature is that they all have green eyes and no other eye colour. They are capable of compelling anyone to do what they want, Ruri belongs to this category

There were other groups of faires but they are rarely talked about cause of their small numbers.

The halflings were standing alongside the humans, they are also a very large specie cause of their diversity. The halflings are basically just half human and half any other creature so they just stick with the humans. The world then was filled with the beauty of the diversity of nature in creating

"Welcome everyone" A voice called out in the crowd and everyone immediately stopped chattering "I'm pretty sure you all know what today is all about right?" Chorus of yess was heard in the crowd and the speaker nodded.

"This year will not be any different from the other years, everyone will still be tested based on their specie's ability. We may now start" He said and stepped back to allow the higher rankings come out and start the selection but then a group of masked armed human men came out. 

"Or maybe not" one of them said, standing on the podium while the others stood besides him  "We are sorry to say but we humans don't want to live or associate with weirdos like y'all anymore" he said, the disgust and hatred clear in his voice 

"What do you mean weird? What if you humans are the weird ones" One of the Vampires spoke as he stepped forward looking at the group of armed humans and the next thing that was seen was his head laying on the ground with blood gushing out. People immediately gasped and made to run away but the armed men shouted "one step away from this arena and y'all will be dead, and don't think you can overpower us. Every single thing that can harm you creatures are imbedded in these weapons"

Everyone that wanted to run away immediately halted "now that this has been made clear, you all weird creatures are given a week to either submit yourself to us or leave this place. We don't wish to coesxit with you people anymore" one of them said and the others nodded in agreement

"You can leave" Everyone immediately scrambled away.

Elle looked at the page she was reading disgust clearly visible on her face, the greed and stupidity of humans didn't start today and it was disgusting. She wanted to continue the book but she felt her body pleading with her to rest but she's scared to shut her eyes cause of the nightmares.

But after so much pleading from her body, she closed the book and laid down "Lord, please let me have a peaceful sleep this time around" she muttered and let herself fall asleep but if wishes were horses, beggers would definitely ride them.
