Chapter 54

Evelyn's pov

When we finally went up to our bedroom I could feel the tension beginning to rise. The silence in the room that we had ignored for so long could not be ignored anymore. One of us had to say something but I decided that I would be the one to do it after all. It was better to just break the bandage completely than to continue lying to myself like this.

"Kian…” I called out his name as if I was still trying to learn how to pronounce it and then he turned around to face me. He had been looking out the window as if expecting somebody to come out of the horizon then he turned around in response to his name, his attention fully fixed on me.

He hardly ever got distracted like that, so I was a little bit surprised but I knew that if I tried to ask him about it he would only tell me what he felt it wasn't appropriate for me to know and sometimes I felt like I wanted to know how much more than he decided was what I needed but at the same time I didn't want to press him and I also
