Chapter 29: Resemblance

The morning sun was alluringly beaming across the horizon. Amaris still felt distressed for leaving Nemiah all wounded in that wrecked church. Though he knew that Caius would take care of her, he still wished he could do it instead. He kept walking back and forth in his small kitchen, feeling uneasy.

Gili felt dizzy watching him fidgeting all over the place.”I can’t bear this anymore. I can’t eat properly watching you roaming around.” He murmured and loudly dropped the utensils on the table. He let out a sigh when he saw Amaris was still restless. He took the table knife and threw it right at him. It almost grazed Amaris’ face if he didn’t stop. The knife hissed through the air, aiming at the wooden cupboard behind Amaris. He flinched as the blade chucked through the surface of the cupboard.
