Chapter 23: Jack's Jazz...Wrong Reason; Right One

Jack fully dressed and ready for his morning. He barely slept last night. It was with much difficulty that he managed to convinced Jazz and Jason to go to bed. He feels the weight of responsibility for those two. Two women had placed their faith in him. He reached for his cell phone trying to call outside. The lines still were down. He reached behind his jacket his pistol loaded and secure.

“Better start my day.” He reached and opened his bedroom door. Shocked and surprise when finding a waiting Jazz. She clearly looked tired from lack of sleep.

“Morning,” she said softly.

“Morning, what are you doing out of bed?” he queries.

“I was waiting for you. How did you sleep?”

“I didn’t and it seemed neither did you.”

“I am going to make coffee.” She falls in step with him. Together they went downstairs.

Jack found the mail and paper on the kitchen counter. He frowned when he realized he still didn’t see William. That man was always very punctual in whatever he was doing. He noticed Jazz was
