Chapter 31: Jack's Jazz...Wrong Reason; Right One

“Jazz,” Martha quickly comes closer.

“I am okay,” Jazz wipes across her mouth. The bit of blood finally stopped.

“Are you sure you are okay? That sounded like a hard slap?”

“Don’t stress, will you.”

“We should call the police. “Martha looked around.

“No leave it. We should focus on feeding the people.” Jazz looked at the patiently waiting men and women.

“Jazz, I didn’t ask for your help to get hurt in the process. Let me call the police. We need to be safe while helping others.”

“Fine, Martha, make the call.”

“I wonder what made them come back?” Martha start picking up the broken pieces of glass.

“I think they were looking for a woman and her child.” Jazz swipe the smaller pieces into the corner. “I told them we don’t cater to children but they didn’t seem to believe me.”

“It was the same with me. I told another guy the same thing. I wonder who they are looking for? Judging from their behavior it seems the woman had reason to stay in hiding.”
