Alessia’s POV

"The food is overcooked! Look at the chicken. I thought you could cook, Cindy," Markus said across the table, not looking impressed at all.

"It's not my fault Johnny wasn't there to cook with me like we planned this afternoon," Cindy said in a harsh tone, looking at me.

What the hell do I have to do with her not being able to even roast a chicken properly? I avoided Johnny's gaze because I knew if I looked up, I would blush again.

"Let's just eat; I think all of us had a busy day," Ciro said, smirking at me, and I couldn't keep my face from going red.

I so want to slap that smirk off his face, dammit!
