Johnny’s POV

I lay in my bed, restless and half regretting my decision to push Alessia away. I know it's better for both of us. But thinking of her and another man together makes me jealous.

I groaned loudly to get rid of my frustration. Fuck, I can't even imagine her with someone else.

It was one of the hardest decisions I had made so far, but I had to. I just hope she understands. I can still see the hurt in her eyes when I said that to her.

A knock on the door pulled me out of my intense thinking.

"Come in.”

The door opened, revealing my mother.

"Hello, son," she said, smiling brightly. "I heard about you and Alessia; now tell me, do I hear wedding bells soon?"

I feel like a complete and utter arsehole for taking that happy face away from her.

“No, mom, I told her we couldn't be anything."
