Hardin's POV

I did not take the time to guess what she was about to talk about but kept mute and waited for her to talk. She took a deep breath, tilting her head away slowly as if she were thinking of how to say what she wanted to say.

“I'm waiting,” I said in a low tone as I moved closer to give her a kiss, but she moved away slowly, avoiding my kiss.

“It's about the training I told you yesterday. I just want to learn how to defend myself from people.” I said in a low tone slowly as if I were counting my words as I spoke them.

“And by people, you mean Shelby,” I said, and suddenly, she heaved a sigh, tilting her head away slowly.

“Is she not enough reason why I should learn how to fight? I can't continue to live my life like this. She is such a bully and difficult to live with. Me alone know the kind of troubles that I faced most times that you are not at home.” She explained, gesturing her words with her hands, and I could only watch her as she spoke.
