Why did I lie to her?

I should have told her the truth, it wasn’t Neon who sent me to her to check up on her, I came because I wanted to, and when I heard her cry, I felt awful about it.

I know that I shouldn’t look at my Alpha’s mate but I couldn’t help it.

Aria is innocent, sweet, and charming, so small and fragile. It makes me want to protect her from any harm.

Neon came back to Aria when he left the prison yard, I thought he wouldn’t. He said he wanted to give her some time, but he didn’t do that.

I was angry with him, even when I saw those marks on Aria’s arm. I was fuming inside but I couldn’t do anything.

I didn’t want to see her getting hurt that’s why I asked Neon to either accept her or let her go back to the human city.

“...you can leave Silas and get things done.” Neon used his Alpha tone on me. Each time he did that, I had no choice but to do as he ordered.

Grumpily, I left him and Aria alone.
