'Oh my. What is that loud noise? I distinctly remember there being no one around here, not even anyone who would come. Why all of a sudden are there human screams and such loud explosions?'

The danger alarm signal echoed in my ears. I didn't have time to mourn my possible last farewell with Jesse, because feelings of anxiety and confusion were now dominating my awareness.

I gazed at the surroundings: all I could see was the expanse of Maximilian's palace flower garden, so picturesque, yet so empty. Then, farther away, was the spot where Jesse had been punished, and all of Maximilian's family members were still unconscious due to the effects of my hypnosis.

Contrary to reality, the clamor of the massive explosion I heard felt so close to my ears. But where was the location?

Where were they? I saw no one except the deserted garden!
