Chapter 37

Curtis wanted to take Margot out for dinner.

To his surprise, he saw Margot and Laura having some pasta in the dining room when he arrived home.

When they heard him coming through the door, they looked up simultaneously.

When they saw Curtis, they turned back to their meal without acknowledging him.

Curtis frowned and went over to the table. He stared at their food with disdain. "Is this all you're eating?"

Laura looked at him and snorted. "Margot makes the best pasta."

Curtis did not believe her.

He didn't even know that Margot could cook.

He pulled out a chair and sat down. Then, he took Margot's plate and began eating without hesitation.

Margot glared at him. "Hey, what are you doing? Cook your own dinner."

Curtis gave her a glance. "I paid for your education and let you live in my house. Am I not allowed to have some pasta in return?"

Speechless, Margot did not rebuke him.

He wasn't wrong.

It was just some pasta. She had already eaten her fill anyway.

Margot stood up
