Curtis looked at Margot's frightened look. Was she scared of him? Was he really that terrifying?

He then remembered how she used to cling to him, always wearing a smile on her little face, looking innocent and adorable.

Thinking about it, why would a grown man like him be so calculative toward a woman.

Setting aside those unpleasant moments, he softened his tone and said, "I won't let Tammy come again. So, please stop putting up a fight with me anymore. I don't want to see you throw tantrums everyday when I come back from work."

Hearing what Curtis said, Margot didn't respond. She just kept her head low and continued eating her food.

"Margot, why're you always lowering your head? Am I a ferocious beast that's frightening?"

She had no choice but to lift up her head and meet the gaze of the man opposite her. Perhaps she felt uncomfortable with how Curtis treated her, but her expression looked pitiful.

Noticing how pitiful Margot looked, Curtis couldn't help but ache for her.
