Chapter Two

◼Rose POV◼

I’m the queen of a vampire clan. I don’t have recollections of when I was small, but I have memories as I grew. My so-called brother Liam turned me into the woman I am today. I’m 136 years old, so I’m what you may call an elder in the vampire clans. So how did I become the queen of the Vampire Rogues? Well, I earn the position fighting through blood, sweat, and tears.

Liam told me our clan was destroyed, burned to ashes, so we had to flee from that place. He said he doesn’t know who survived, but he had to keep us alive. I don’t quite believe him; I have this hunch he has been lying all along.

My clan is one of the strongest vampire clans in Europe and one of the most feared. We keep treaties and peace with several other groups except for one, the Kingdom of Ciar. That kingdom is the ruler of all the vampire clans. They ruled over Europe, but not over my clan, as we are rogues.

All of my people respect me. I have earned their trust and their loyalty. I know they whisper behind my back. That I kill without compassion, I am heartless, a psycho, and a bloodthirsty vampire. It’s true. I’m beyond that.

I know Liam wonders how I turned into this awful vampire. Truth, not even I know. Maybe it’s because they have betrayed me, lied several times.

I welcome vampires that have been banished, abandoned, or hurt and found in the area and witches, warlocks, and humans. Though we are a vampire clan that lives in the twenty-first century, we keep ourselves to the old-fashioned way, living in secluded places.

The vampires hold power, magic. Each of us is born with a unique gift. Mine is mind control. My elders keep asking me if I’m from Royalty. Only Royal Vampires have the power of mind control. I have asked Liam on a lot of occasions about our family, my family. But he always evades the question. I haven’t given up; I know Liam hides secrets that one day I will know.

“ROSE!!” Liam yelled.

“What?” I snap, looking over my shoulder.

“I’ve been calling your name for at least twenty minutes. What’s wrong with you?” Liam asked, frowning.

“Nothing,” I sighed as I took a seat, “now, tell me, what did the council say in the meeting?”

“Rose… they’re suggesting for you to take a mate,” Liam mumbled.

Slamming my hand on the desk, I stand up and start pacing my office. These elders have been pressuring me about taking a mate. But, unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find my mate. Even though I have traveled to different clans, I still don’t feel him.

“They asked about… you know… your lover,” Liam said through gritted teeth.

I have a lover with the power to burn someone into ashes. He’s just a toy I use, nothing more. I know he has feelings for me, but I don’t believe in love.

“Let them keep thinking we have something,” I said, turning around and walking towards the window. “Anything else?”

“No… Well, I have something to tell you,” Liam said, smirking.

“By that smile, it’s something I’ve wanted to hear, right?” I said, smiling brightly.

“Yes… we know where the amulet is,” Liam smirked devilishly.

I smiled brightly.

I order Liam to gather my men. The amulet we have been looking for holds power to control and reign over all the clans. With no fighting with the Kingdom of Ciar. The fucking ruthless king will give his throne to the one who holds the amulet. He would have no power.

That’s the reason I have been looking for information for the past two months. I needed clues, and we finally got them.

Letting Liam know we would leave in four days. I dismissed him.

As I work for two more hours, I head back to my bedroom. As expected, my lover awaits me in bed. He is sound asleep, but I’m not in the mood for some sex. What I want his blood. Grabbing some clothes, I walked to the bedroom right in front of mine. I ask the servants to bring me three slaves. I sit on an armchair with just a robe. Waiting for my three slaves, I hear a slight knock.

“Sorry to bother you,” Liam said, walking shirtless.

Liam was a handsome man. He was six feet tall, chiseled and toned, pale skin like porcelain and chocolate brown hair with blue eyes just like the sky. He was a fine specimen. His broad shoulders had me craving for him twice. I have seen Liam lust for me, but he says he is my brother. He does nothing to me. So I respect that. I don’t even tease him.

“What do you need?” I asked as I eyed him up and down.

I can see him gulped. I was wearing a see-through white robe. As vampires, being nude is the most normal thing.

“I heard you’re about to feed,” Liam whispered, not looking at me.

“So?” I said, “is there a problem?”

“Rose… You have been killing a lot of slaves lately,” Liam stutters as he closes his eyes.

Liam was six feet away from me. Standing, I walk up to him and start circling him, checking him out.

“What’s the problem? I need blood, Liam,” I hissed.

“I know… But it’s more than usual,” Liam mumbled.

Snapping my head, I stop next to him and eyeing him; I scowl. Taking a seat back, I stare at him. There have been only two occasions I had used my powers on Liam. The first time when I became queen, and the second time when I killed twenty-two slaves. I didn’t like using my powers on him. I know he has done a lot for me, not only as my general but as a brother and friend. He is the only close person I have.

“I will only have three slaves today,” I sighed, “let’s get more slaves.”

Liam didn’t move. He had a stern look. Frowning, I ask him what’s the issue now. He didn’t utter a word. Suddenly his eyes lower down to my chest. Looking away, he gulps hard.

I raised my eyebrow. Standing up, I move inhumanly fast. Holding his chin with my finger, I make him look at me.

“Anything else?” I hissed, my fangs showing.

Liam wanted to say something as he was about to. The door open and my lover came walking in. He scowled at Liam and approached me from behind, hugging me. I kept looking at Liam, his eyes looking at the man hugging me.

“What are you doing here?” I asked without moving my head.

“I heard you were here. I was waiting for you,” he whispered in my ear.

“Leave!” I ordered.

I was in no mood for fucking. Letting go, I asked Liam to leave, as the servant brings in my slaves. I ordered them to leave and not disturb me unless I call them.

My mood wrecked. Turning around, I take a seat and order the slaves to kneel. Snapping my fingers, I take control of their bodies. I was restless, impatient. Getting my mate has been bothering me. Cracking my neck, I ask one slave to come over. Grabbing him by the neck, I bite. Feeling his body go limp in my hands, I discard it to the side. Warmblood was what I wanted. I know I said I would only have three slaves, but now I wanted more.

Four hours later, I had over a dozen bodies scattered in the room. I called the servant to come and discard the bodies. As he leaves, I see Renata coming into the bedroom.

“Your Majesty,” Renata said, bowing.

“What is it?” I asked as I cleaned my mouth.

“The King of the Montes Clan is here,” Renata said.

“Why is he here?” I asked, throwing the towel on the bed. “Why wasn’t I informed of this before?”

“He didn’t inform us….” Renata whispered.

Hissing loudly, I walk out towards the living room. As I walk down the stairs, I see the bastard standing in the living room. Looking over his shoulders, he turns around; I see him scanning my body. Unfortunately, I had forgotten to change. My white robe was full of blood, and it was see-through. I could see his eyes turning into lust. Angry at the way he was looking at me, I ordered him to kneel.

Taking him by surprise, he kneels, his head bowed.

“Why didn’t you inform me you were coming?” I hissed as my fangs elongated.

“S-Sorry,” he stuttered.

“I hate uninvited guests. If you came for something urgent, you better start spitting it out,” I said, taking a seat.

The King of the Montes Clan was an ally. He knows I don’t like uninvited guests. I can smell his fear in the air.

As the only woman in charge of a clan, most kings from other clans fear me. They know what power I hold and how I am. I loathe lies. Don’t tolerate stuff and hate people who look at me above them. So I had to earn respect over the other groups, all over Europe and Asia.

“So why are you here?” I hissed as I pinch my nose.

“I got informed that the king of the Kingdom of Ciar knows about the amulet,” he explained.

Snapping my head, I grimace. The hell? How did he know?

“Who else?” I asked, standing up and walking towards him.

“Almost all the clans in Europe know. They know you are looking for it, and for that, you have everyone backing you up. That’s all I came to say,” he explained.

I release him from my control. Standing up, he bows and turns around. Before he could leave, I stopped him.

“Next time I look at you, staring at me like that. I swear you will die painfully slow,” I hissed, showing my white fangs.

The vampire king bowed, and as I ordered him to leave, he flinched. I hated guys like him. Thinking we are only convenient for playing. No other woman but myself has shown how capable we can be. I have been the queen of my Solar Clan for the last 100 years. I fear no one, and no one dares to go against me, except one. Even though we have never met, I know he hates me.

As anger pours into my skin, I grab the table and throw it across the room. I was hissing, my body shaking from anger. I didn’t want that bastard to know about the amulet. Now all my plans have changed. Yelling for Liam, I explain to him what changes need to change. As he left, I called the servants. I needed to kill people, so I asked if we had some prisoners still. I wanted to do some hunting. Asking to release five prisoners, I give them a chance to run away into the forest.

Mountains were the tallest thing you would see, as forest and rivers surrounded my home. I love being surrounded by nature. As I give them some time to get as far as possible, I change into some quick hunting gear. Walking out, I see my men waiting for orders. I was planning on doing this alone, without no one disturbing my little playtime.

Yelling orders, I stroll into the forest until I get surrounded by darkness. Closing my eyes, I heighten my senses. Sensing them, I hunt each prisoner. Eyes pitch black as night and moving inhumanly fast, I catch my first two, killing them on the spot. I love hunting humans. It excited my monster and me. Eager to tear them into pieces, I continue enjoying my game.

Ten minutes later, I finished. I had killed the five of them. Returning home, I feel someone’s presence in the forest. As I stay still, I try to see if the intruder tried to attack me. Disappearing, I felt uncomfortable. I didn’t know why there was an unknown intruder here.

Ignoring him, I walk back. He didn’t look like a threat. Once I reached home, I explained to my men to monitor the borders and surrounding areas. I walked back into the house. The living room table replaced already.

As we lived in the forest, my house was a three-story mansion made of gray bricks from the outside. In the middle of the house was a small tower that divided the place in two. It was a French-medieval-style home with an eerie style, kind of gloomy from the outside. It looked like a house taken out of a book. Giving old lost chateau vibes. Even though it had those looks from the outside. The inside of the mansion was modern. Marble floors that reflected the chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The white walls, with colorful curtains and window glass, and black furniture with colorful decoration.

The mansion had fifteen bedrooms, eighteen bathrooms, a library, a kitchen, two living rooms, a gym, a bathhouse, an attic, a garage, four offices, and a conference room.

My people lived in their own houses, surrounding my home. Everyone had their own houses. I had architects who would be in charge of building new homes if and only if we had new vampires joining the clan. It was the benefit of moving into my place. Each member had their own home and job.

I would provide a monthly income and bonus to help them.

As I walk to my bedroom, I take a quick bath and head to bed. I was tired and needed some sleep. As I look out my window, I see it’s a full moon. Smirking, I think of what my plans for tomorrow are. Tomorrow we will be leaving. I needed that amulet, and I would take it, and no one would stop me, no one.
