Chapter 60

Josephine released her hand from his grip and took a step back before looking up to meet his eyes. Those eyes reminded her of the warmth she always felt whenever she looks into it, but now, it has returned back to its usual coldness.

“Do you want to see me?”

Josephine didn’t answer. She just stood there staring at him.

“If you have something to say, say it to me,” Lucas said.

Josephine scoffed inwardly, not believing that it has come to this. He didn’t even ask if she was okay or where she was staying after leaving his apartment. Did he not even care about her at all? Or maybe she has been a burden and he was finally relieved that she was gone. Her presence must have irked him. At least, that was what she thought.
